Hades 2 update

Supergiant Games has announced the first post-launch update for Hades 2. It’ll be a bit before the patch rolls out on Nintendo Switch 2 and Switch, but look for it in the near future.

While the title recently released, the team is far from finished with the game. Hades 2 will be getting enhancements to the True Ending, lots of other improvements and adjustments, and bug fixes.

We have the full notice from Supergiant below. Just beware that you may want to hold off on reading everything if you’ve yet to play the game.

Hades 2 trailer

One of the next big Nintendo Switch 2 and Switch games launches today, with Supergiant sending out Hades 2. We now have the official launch trailer.

Here’s an overview of the god-like rogue-like dungeon crawler sequel:

After it was announced for Nintendo Switch 2 and Switch earlier this year, Hades received its release date today. The game heads to both platforms on September 26, 2025. A physical version will follow on November 20, 2025.

Hades 2 has been in Early Access on PC similar to the original game. For the full 1.0 release, it will be a console launch exclusive for Nintendo.

April 2: It’s official: Hades 2 will be released on Nintendo Switch 2. A release date was not provided.

On top of the Switch 2 news, it was confirmed that the game will be released on the current Switch as well.

Hades 2 is a sequel to the acclaimed god-like roguelike dungeon crawler. Learn more about it via the following overview:

Hades II

Hades II is now in development, Supergiant Games just announced. The company revealed the news at The Game Awards 2022 moments ago.

Hades previously launched on Switch, and it’s expected that the same will happen with its sequel. Nintendo’s console actually received the first title on the same day it left early access.

This week’s episode of Nintendo Minute has gone live. In today’s video, Kit and Krysta hang out (virtually) with Darren Korb, audio director at Supergiant Games and get a tour of his home music studio. Check out the full episode below.

Hades Zagreus Nendoroid

A new Hades Nendoroid is in the works based on main character Zagreus, Good Smile has announced. Specifics of the figure haven’t been detailed. There’s also no word on release timing just yet. However, we do have a concept image above.

That’s not the only new figure product for Hades. As part of WonHobby 33 in May, we learned that Zagreus is getting a Pop Up Parade figure. We’re also waiting on further updates pertaining to this particular product.

Hades

The rogue-like dungeon crawler Hades has earned a great deal of praise and attention since its proper launch back in September. One of the aspects players have focused on are the characters, which have spawned plenty of fan art.

Greg Kasavin, who’s behind Hades’ writing and design, spoke about the response to the game’s characters in a previous issue of EDGE. He had this to say on that topic:

Hades

Hades, Supergiant Games’ wildly successful god-like rogue-like dungeon crawler, almost went in a different direction. Co-founder Amir Rao revealed in a talk on the social app Clubhouse that early concepts didn’t feature Zagreus. Instead, it would have revolved around Theseus.

Theseus is in the game, but not in the starring role. Creative director Greg Kasavin ultimately came up with the idea to keep what Supergiant had already created, “but recast it as Zagreus.” Rao added, “I think a day or two he had convinced everyone that it was a better idea.”
