Update: Since time of publishing, game director Takashi Taura has clarified that IGN Benelux’s report was mistranslated.
Instead of what was previously reported, the correct translation is that he is “thinking about various ways that it can be expanded into a trilogy or more.”
Original: It sounds like Astral Chain won’t be getting any DLC after launch. However, we could be seeing more from the IP in the future.
Speaking with IGN Benelux, director Takahisa Taura was asked about the possibility of extra content following release. While he shot that down, he noted that PlatinumGames is thinking about Astral Chain as a trilogy. We could see it turn into a proper series if the first game sells well, he said.

Astral Chain has two-player support when you detach the Joy-Con

What we’ve mostly seen of Astral Chain has been advertised as a single-player experience. However, there is actually a two-player mode of sorts included.
If you detach the Joy-Con, one controller will have the controls for the cop and the second will be for the Legion – which is connected by a chain. This is the only way in which two people can play together during the dual combat sequences.

PlatinumGames designer up for NieR: Automata on Switch, if Square Enix shows interest

Square Enix just wrapped up a fan Q&A event on Facebook for NieR: Automata. At one point, desginer Takahisa Taura was asked about a potential Switch version.
Taura seemed open to the idea, as well as bringing the game to more platforms in general. It would ultimately come down to Square Enix’s interest.
Taura said:
“From our perspective in PlatinumGames, if Square Enix pays us to do it, we’ll make you a version for the Switch, we’ll make you a version for the Super Nintendo if you want – anything you ask for.”
Square Enix is already bringing several titles to Switch. One more wouldn’t hurt, right?
