Over in Japan, Valkyria Chronicles has been announced as the next Game Trial for Nintendo Switch Online. It can be played for free with a subscription between July 5 and July 11. Per usual, all progress transfers to the full version.

Valkyria Chronicles will also have a discount on the Japanese Switch eShop. That game, along with Valkyria Chronicles 4, will be available for 33 percent off between July 5 and July 18.

SEGA will release the first Valkyria Chronicles on Switch in the west, SEGA announced at PAX West 2018 today. The title had previously been confirmed for Japan only.

Valkyria Chronicles 1 launches in the west on October 16. Normally, it’ll cost $19.99. Those who purchase Valkyria Chronicles 4 on Switch digitally will be able to receive a 25% discount on the first game.

When Valkyria Chronicles 4 launches for Switch in Japan, it’ll be accompanied by the original Valkyria Chronicles. We now have a proper look at how the game is looking on the system thanks to an eShop listing. View a handful of screenshots below.

Valkyria Chronicles 1 will be sold for just 500 yen for those who purchase Valkyria Chronicles 4. A release in other regions has yet to be announced.

The official release dates for Valkyria Chronicles 4 and Valkyria Chronicles 1 for the Switch in Japan were officially revealed in the latest issue of Weekly Famitsu.

Valkyria Chronicles 4 will launch both physically and digitally for 7,490 yen on September 27th, while Valkyria Chronicles 1 will launch on the same day on the Switch’s eShop for 1,990 yen. As mentioned before, those who purchase Valkyria Chronicles 4 will be able to pick up the first title and save 500 yen off it.
