Batman Arkham Trilogy

Batman Arkham Trilogy was previously rumored on Switch following a listing that was posted by a French distributor. During today’s Nintendo Direct, Warner Bros. made the news official.

Batman Arkham Collection will include three games (Arkham Asylum, Arkham City, and Arkham Knight) plus all previously-released DLC. The package is set for release this fall.

Mortal Kombat 1 is perhaps the most jaw-dropping fighting game I’ve ever had the privilege of playing. And not just in a figurative sense, because there’s literally an X-Ray attack in which Sub-Zero skewers his opponent’s brain through their mouth with a shard of ice, rendered in a shocking amount of detail. Between the new Kameo mechanic, an increased focus on aerial play, and some of the most stunning visuals I’ve ever seen in a fighting game, this is a game that feels next-gen from edge to edge. That’s a polite way of saying: I have no idea how they are going to get this running on Switch.

Mortal Kombat 1 gameplay trailer

The first gameplay for Mortal Kombat 1 has just come in. Footage was shown off at the start of Summer Game Fest 2023 today.

Here’s an overview of the title:

Mortal Kombat 1

Original (5/18): Warner Bros. and NetherRealm Studios are bringing Mortal Kombat 1 to Switch, the two sides just announced. A release is planned for September 19, 2023.

Mortal Kombat 1 “will introduce a reborn Mortal Kombat Universe that has been created by the Fire God Liu Kang, featuring reimagined versions of iconic characters as they’ve never been seen before.” Story Mode is back “with an immersive cinematic narrative featuring unexpected twists on classic rivalries and original backstories for a wide-ranging cast of legendary fighters, including Liu Kang, Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Raiden, Kung Lao, Kitana, Mileena, Shang Tsung, Johnny Cage, and many others.” Something new this time around are Kameo Fighters, which are partner characters that can assist during matches.

Here’s a ton of additional information from the official website:

Mortal Kombat 1 DLC characters

Amazon Italy put up a new listing for Mortal Kombat 1 today that appears to leak several unannounced characters for the game that are planned as DLC.

The fighting title, which was officially revealed this week, will be getting a bunch of additional characters as part of Kombat Pack 1. News about this has not been made known officially.

We have more on this after the break. Keep that in mind before proceeding if you’re looking to maintain the surprise.

Mortal Kombat 1 rumor

Warner Bros. and NetherRealm Studios will supposedly release the next Mortal Kombat game on Switch titled Mortal Kombat 1. That’s according to dataminer billbil_kun, who has a track record of leaking

The game will apparently cost $60 on Switch while it’ll be $10 extra on other consoles. Warner Bros. intends to release a couple of special editions, but it seems they won’t be on Switch.

Hogwarts Legacy DLC

Many games end up receiving DLC, but Hogwarts Legacy apparently won’t be one of them. At least for now, the game won’t be getting any extra content.

Hogwarts Legacy game director Alan Tew told IGN: “We’ve been really heads down bringing [Hogwarts Legacy] to life, so at the moment there are no current plans for DLC.” Plans could always change in the future, though at least for now, fans shouldn’t expect anything beyond what’s included in the game currently.

Hogwarts Legacy Switch update

Hogwarts Legacy is about to make its debut, but the Switch version will have to wait a bit longer. In fact, we actually don’t really know much about the game on Nintendo’s console. It should have just about all of the same content as other platforms, but some ports on the system can be hit or miss when it comes to technical performance.

Troy Johnson, a designer on the game, does at least seem to have high hopes. Johnson was asked about the Switch version of Hogwarts Legacy in an interview with Italian site Multiplayer, and shared the following:

Hogwarts Legacy cinematic

A new trailer has arrived for Hogwarts Legacy that’s purely cinematic. Warner Bros. has given an overall look at the world with its latest video.
