Yo-Kai Watch Busters

Level-5 prepared a new Yo-kai Watch Busters trailer, which shows the upcoming “Moon Rabbit Team” update. You can watch it below.

The Moon Rabbit Team update for Yo-kai Watch Busters is due out in Japan in December.

Based on some information that was recently distributed, it was thought that Level-5 would be releasing a third version of Yo-kai Watch Busters in Japan similar to Yo-kai Watch 2: Shinuchi. However, this isn’t actually so. Level-5 will instead just be making a free update available on December 12 known as “Moon Rabbit Team”.

The Moon Rabbit Team update adds new yo-kai (B-USApyon, Red J, Mighty Dog, Onigama and Onigumo), new big bosses (Robonyan 3000, Kakuseihinokami, and Captain Thunder), and movie characters (Enma Daiou, Nurarihyon, and Fuu2). Level-5 also suggested that there will be some sort of benefit for those who own both versions of Yo-kai Watch Busters.

Take a look at some screenshots and art of the upcoming update below.

Just like Yo-kai Watch 2, Yo-kai Watch Busters is getting a third version in Japan called “Moon Rabbit Team”. The game will feature USApyon as the main Yo-kai. Owners of the older Yo-kai Watch Busters games should be eligible for some sort of free update.

Yo-kai Watch Busters launches in Japan this December for 3DS. There’s no other news yet about what else is new in the game, but you’ll bring you that information when it’s available.

Level-5 released another round of live-action Yo-Kai Watch Busters commercials. Check them out below:

Yo-Kai Watch Busters sold 694,000 copies in its first two days on the Japanese market. Media Create reports that the White Dog Squad earned 423,000 of those units while Red Cat Team moved the remaining 271,000 copies. Yo-Kai Watch Busters also became the best-selling game in Japan this year in terms of first week performance (previously Dragon Quest Heroes).

There were 1.159 million pieces of software sold between July 6 and July 12, which was brought about thanks to 3DS titles like Yo-Kai Watch Busters. It’s the first time in roughly 3.5 months that this happened on the Japanese market.

It’s true that Yo-Kai Watch Busters sold 52.67 percent compared to Yo-Kai Watch 2’s debut, which is roughly half. However, there is a difference in the sales period, and Busters isn’t a numbered title and instead a game mode from Yo-Kai Watch 2 that received an independent release. It can be thought that mostly old fans of the series bought Busters.

Media Create also notes that Yo-Kai Watch didn’t do much for 3DS hardware sales, and that strengthens the assumption that mostly existing users bought the game.
