BAKERU review

System: Switch
Release date: September 3, 2024
Developer: Good-Feel
Publisher: Spike Chunsoft

BAKERU is an interesting mix of past and present for Good-Feel. As the co-producer of the long-running Ganbare Goemon series, Etsunobu Ebisu has clearly brought his expertise from that here by creating what feels like a spiritual successor in tone and presentation, and with an impressive resume of titles of a similar genre on Switch (including Princess Peach: Showtime! and Kirby’s Extra Epic Yarn) this game represents the best of both worlds. Thankfully, it delivers on both fronts to be one of the best 3D action games I’ve played on the system this year.

Nintendo have announced that Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp online services will come to an end later this year, on November 28. First launched in 2017, it is one of Nintendo’s longest-running apps.

Dramatic Create and Adelta have announced that they will be bringing Hashihime of the Old Book Town append fullscreen to Switch next month, on September 12. The game is a collection of supplementary materials for visual novel Hashime of the Old Book Town append, which released for Switch back in 2021. It will support English, Japanese, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese language options.

For an overview of what the collection contains, check out the description below, which comes from its Steam page:

July 19: On social media, Nintendo just announced two new Splatoon 3 amiibo sets, due for release in Japan on September 5. No Western release has currently been announced by Nintendo’s Western accounts but will no doubt be forthcoming. The Side Order Set will contain figures of Pearl and Marina, and the Alterna Set is for Callie and Marie.

We actually received some information about the existence of these amiibo in a datamine some time ago, although this didn’t completely confirm their existence.
