More Bravely Default: Flying Fairy details are included in the latest issue of Jump.

First up, there will be SpotPass support (hopefully this wasn’t mistranslated…). Players will see Norende Village’s resident count rise through SpotPass and Internet transfers. With a higher population, the town’s recovery will improve.

Jump also has the first information on “Crystal Spirits.” They’ll be joining Anies as he looks to free the crystals.

Although Bravely Default will be missing out on the Tokyo Game Show in playable form, Square Enix is readying yet another demo, which should be out soon. If TGS attendees have the demo downloaded and bring along their 3DS, they’ll be able to exchange data with the development team.

The word out of Jump’s latest issue is that a new Toriko game is in the works for the 3DS. Toriko Gourmet Monsters! will be released this winter, according to the magazine.

The title is a Gourmet Monster Raising RPG. That likely means players will be collecting and raising monsters.

More details should be on the way, so stay tuned for that.

Nintendo has responded to the latest NPD report. While commenting on 3DS’ performance, the company confirmed sales for both New Super Mario Bros. 2 and Kingdom Hearts 3D.

Take a look at the press release below for that information and more.

New Super Mario Bros. 2 Emerges as the Best-Selling Video Game of August

Even with only five days of reported data, Nintendo 3DS XL and New Super Mario Bros. 2 still had major impacts on the August video game market. The new hardware, which features 90 percent larger screens than the original Nintendo 3DS, and the new side-scrolling Mario adventure both launched on Aug. 19 and helped Nintendo achieve the following:

In an interview with French website Gameblog.fr, Rayman and Beyond Good & Evil creator Michel Ancel opened up on all things Wii U. Ancel talked about the console overall and its techn, and managed to offer some tidbits on Rayman Legends.

Fortunately, someone was kind enough to translate a large portion of the interview. We’ve posted a number of points from the discussion, including Ancel’s high praise for the Wii U’s memory.

Read on below for the summary.

Wii U in general

– Ancel believes Nintendo has a tough job explaining Wii U
– He feels the console is like having a whole new cooking recipe, and you can’t put words on it
– People have to “taste it” to understand what it means
– Ancel sees Wii U as a core gamer concept since it brings new tools to gamers and games while not removing what they already had
– Nintendo’s director was difficult for devs to understand at first, but it will ultimately lead to value

Rayman Legends

– In a way, the game is like a level editor that allows for playfield changes in realtime
– GamePad player will be able to literally dig into the scenario like Dig Dug
– Ancel appreciates the idea of asymmetric gameplay

Wii U tech

– Wii U has enormous memory
– Almost no limitations with memory
– Lots of memory helps with 2D games since they use memory for textures, drawings, etc.
– Ancel says the Wii U is a surprising machine
– It can display full HD on the TV while streaming a different image at 800X480 on the GamePad
– Keeps 60 i/s framerate at the same time
– Ancel also likes how Wii U opens LAN possibilities
– Even though it’s rather powerful, the Wii U isn’t a traditional next-gen console with huge graphic improvements
– Nintendo made different next-gen choices
– Ancel isn’t sure if Wii U can handle his vision for Beyond Good & Evil 2 since he only has 2D experience with the console thus far

You can download Rising Board 3D from the North American eShop on 20th September for $2.99.
