Following recent confusion, Nintendo has clarified that its Switch 2 Editions will contain everything on their cartridges, meaning no extra download will be required for the games.

We first heard from a UK customer support representative that these titles would have their content and features available as a download. However, a different representative later indicated otherwise. If a download had been required, physical Switch 2 Editions would essentially be Switch 1 games on the actual cartridge.

Zelda Wind Waker HD Nintendo Switch 2

The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD is still only on Wii U, but that doesn’t necessarily mean it will never receive a Nintendo Switch 2 port.

Tim Gettys of Kinda Funny Games was recently able to get some hands on time with the new system during a press event. He also spoke with a representative and asked about the status of The Wind Waker HD. Wind Waker will be launching on Nintendo Switch 2, but that’s through Nintendo Switch Online with the new addition of GameCube classics.

A third round of DLC is heading to Disney Illusion Island, with the game today revealing a new “C.A.S.H.” update. Nintendo Switch players can access it on May 30, 2025.

We’re waiting for full details, but this will apparently involve some sort of cave adventuring scavenger hunt. It’s also confirmed that the update will feature Scrooge McDuck.

Bearnard

Publisher Untold Tales, along with solo developer Michał Wikliński, today announced that Bearnard is making the jump to Nintendo Switch. The title launches on May 9, 2025.

Bearnard features a mix of turn-based combat, archery, and card-enhanced battles alongside action-adventuring inspired by the 8-bit era. It’s set against the backdrop of an adventure in which a master archer and reluctant hero attempts to reclaim a legendary bow and defend his woodland home.
