The 3DS doesn’t get a whole lot of new releases these days, so when a new one appears, we can’t help but take notice. That’s especially so when a title with an extremely unexpected price pops up.

In comes PDI Check, a new piece of software from Damarjian Interactive. The eShop listing doesn’t mention much aside from the fact that it’s “an interactive multiple-choice game utilizing the unique color, 3-dimensional screen on the Nintendo 3DS system to quickly and accurately measure near visual acuity, color vision and stereopsis.”

Switch received one of its latest ports this week in the form of Assassin’s Creed III Remastered. How does the game perform? Digital Foundry takes a closer look at the technical side of things.

The first point to discuss is resolution. Assassin’s Creed III does manage to run at 1080p on Switch when docked compared to Wii U’s 720p. However, the image presented isn’t as refined as the PlayStation 4 version due to aspects such as post anti-aliasing.

Assassin’s Creed Liberation HD is also included in the package, but interestingly, the resolution here is a bit lower. The game runs at 900p when docked with edge artifacts in motion.

Tempest Trials+: The Holy Guard has started in Fire Emblem Heroes. This time around, players can obtain the 5-star Special Hero Louise: Eternal Devotion and two Sacred Seals, Spd/Res 1 and Brazen Atk/Spd 1 as rewards.

Tempest Trials+: The Holy Guard will be live until June 4.

Star Ocean: First Departure R is coming to Switch, Square Enix has announced. A release date has not yet been confirmed.

Star Ocean: First Departure originally hit the PSP back in 2007. The RPG was a remake of the series’ very first entry, featuring new characters and endings, a remastered soundtrack, new voice characters, and more. Star Ocean: First Departure R will be an HD version of that PSP edition.
