Ys X Switch PlayStation development

Ys X: Nordics is a bit of a landmark release for Falcom as it’s the first time that the company’s Switch version launched alongside the PlayStation release. Of course, we’re referring to Japan here – NIS America tends to bring everything over to North America and Europe later.

Toshihiro Kondo spoke about developing Ys X for both Switch and PlayStation in a recent interview with Joshin Web. Falcom kept Nintendo’s console in mind from the beginning, and this version was actually completed first. Kondo did also pointed out how the company needed to consider Switch’s specs in mind during development.

Ebenezer and the Invisible World launch trailer

A final launch trailer is here for Ebenezer and the Invisible World. This week, the hand-drawn Metroidvania fantasy reimagination of Charles Dickens classic ghost story came to Switch.

Fire Emblem Heroes 7.11.0 update

Nintendo and Intelligent Systems have announced the next Fire Emblem Heroes update, which will put the game at version 7.11.0.

It comes with some of the usual additions like new weapon skills and new weapons to refine. The full rundown can be found below.

Overwatch 2 Mauga

Mauga will be the next playable Hero in Overwatch 2, Blizzard just announced. The news dropped today at BlizzCon 2023.

Fans can look forward to Mauga with Season 8, which starts on December 5 – though you can play a bit early with a trial weekend happening now. He’s a Samoan character, and while Mauga  may seem like a big and loud brute, he’s a cunning tactician who’s one step ahead of his enemies. Blizzard went as far as to bring in a Samoan tattoo artist for his tattoo. 

LEGO Super Mario Nabbit at Toad's Shop Expansion Set

Two more LEGO Super Mario products are arriving soon with the Nabbit at Toad’s Shop Expansion Set and Penguin Family Snow Adventure Expansion Set. Both are planned for the end of the year.

The first one has a Yellow Toad and Nabbit toy figure. It also comes with a buildable shop with assorted toy / food accessories and a shopping cart to inspire creative role-play. Mario, Luigi, and Peach can also be used for interactive play as you can jump on an Action Tag to greet Yellow Toad, get digital food items such as ice cream, fruit and cookies from the shop, and stomp on Nabbit’s bag to get various digital items.

The Darkside Detective A Fumble in the Dark physical

Today, Super Rare Games announced that it will be in charge of a physical version for The Darkside Detective: A Fumble in the Dark on Switch.

3,000 copies will be produced in total. Each unit contains the game on a physical cartridge, a full-color manual, an exclusive sticker, and trading card pack.

Fashion Dreamer launch trailer

XSEED and Marvelous have come through with a launch trailer for Fashion Dreamer. Syn Sophia, the studio behind Style Savvy, developed the project.

What The Duck

Publisher Untold Tales and developer Seize Studios have announced What the Duck, and it’s only a week away. It’s due out for Switch on November 9, 2023.

What the Duck is an action adventure RPG featuring exploration, crafting, combat, and rhythm games. The premise is that while everyone around you can summon and control their own mighty spirit animal, yours is actually a duck.

Thirsty Suitors launch trailer

One last trailer is here for Thirsty Suitors to promote the game’s launch. The title features a mix of turn-based combat, skateboarding, and cooking.
