Evil Dead: The Game Switch cancelled

Evil Dead: The Game will no longer be released on Switch as this version of the title has been cancelled. That’s according to the official Twitter (or X) account, which updated fans on the situation today.

Unfortunately, we don’t have much insight into the decision. The message merely states that Saber Interactive and Boss Team Games “will not be releasing a Nintendo Switch version of the game.”

Nintendo has updated the Japanese release schedule on its platforms for the week of September 28, 2023. Here’s a look at the upcoming digital download schedule:

TOEM physical

iam8bit is working on a physical release of TOEM in partnership with Something We Made, the company announced today. Copies should ship in Q1 2024.

Also planned in a vinyl soundtrack with 32 tracks pressed on two classic black LPs, “giving listeners a perfect opportunity to enjoy its wonderful score from composers Launchable Socks and Jamal Green, and with magical interludes by Viktor Eidhagen.” The jacket “recreates TOEM’s in-game photo album, a charming artifact rendered in a well-loved leather look with gold highlights.”

Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 Grandma Gertie

Original (9/18): GameMill, Ludosity, and Fair Play Labs today confirmed that Grandma Gertie will be a playable character in Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2. She’s known from the animated show Hey Arnold.

Based on a previous leak, Gertie won’t be the only new playable character from Hey Arnold. We don’t get into it here for those looking to avoid spoilers, but you can check out our previous post here.

My Next Life as a Villainess release date limited edition

Nearly two years after its Japanese debut, My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom – Pirates of the Disturbance now has a release date on Switch in the west. Idea Factory today confirmed that it will launch on November 28, 2023.

Also announced today is a limited edition for My Next Life as a Villainess. We don’t have the details just yet, but fans will be able to grab it from the Idea Factory online store in North America and Europe.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe

The latest UK software sales chart for the week ending September 16, 2023.

Once again, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe holds on as the top Switch title. It’s actually in the same position as it was last week at #3. Elsewhere, Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom moves up to #4.

Dangen Entertainment and developer Pinix Games today announced that Alina of the Arena is making its way to consoles, including Switch. Fans can expect it by the end of 2023.

Alina of the Arena is roguelike deck-building tactics game that takes inspiration from Slay the Spire and Into the Breach. Further details are available in the following overview:

Exit Veil

Publisher Dangen Entertainment, along with Tokyo Dark developer Cherrymochi, today confirmed that Exit Veil will be made available on consoles, including Nintendo hardware. The two sides did not share a release window.

Exit Veil is an occult RPG in which players go on a journey through a dark-psychedelic labyrinth as Tori, a lost soul navigating a beautiful yet terrifying world on the brink of decay. More information is included in the following overview:
