Super Mario Bros. Wonder local multiplayer initially had collision
Posted on 1 year ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Switch | 0 comments
Nintendo has shared a little nugget of information about Super Mario Bros. Wonder‘s development, revealing that the game initially included player collision in local multiplayer, though it was ultimately taken out.
This is a small but notable change from the New Super Mario Bros. series. Previously, collision meant being able to do certain things like jumping off another player’s head while playing with friends. However, it could also make things quite chaotic – something that Nintendo seemed to take notice of. Now you won’t touch or bump into other players.

Xenoblade 2 Torna DLC’s music was jazz-inspired since director was a fan of Whiplash
Posted on 1 year ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Switch | 0 comments
According to Xenoblade series director Tetsuya Takahashi, we have the 2015 movie Whiplash to thank for the jazz-inspired soundtrack in Xenoblade Chronicles 2 – Torna: The Golden Country.
Takahashi shared a lengthy message looking back on the franchise as part of the recently-released Xenoblade Chronicles Original Soundtrack Trinity Box. He had some kind words for composer Yasunori Mitsuda, and would later go on to discuss Torna. Takahashi had hoped to incorporate “a jazz-style atmosphere” in the main game, but “there wasn’t enough time to implement it”.

Posted on 1 year ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in Let's Talk, Switch eShop | 0 comments
One of the big announcements from this month’s Nintendo Direct was F-Zero 99. Given how long the franchise has been gone for, it was nice to see it return. First impressions may have you thinking that it’s just like the very original F-Zero, but obviously competing with 98 other people online is a significant hook.
With F-Zero 99 having been out for a bit now, what do you think about the game? How do you feel it stacks up to the other “99” titles on Switch? Let us know in the comments.
