Zelda Echoes of Wisdom credits Shigeru Miyamoto

Maxnichols has taken a closer look at the credits for The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, and believe it or not, Shigeru Miyamoto isn’t in them. It’s actually the first game in which he’s not credited for one of the series’ games.

Miyamoto, of course, is the creator of Zelda. But as many fans know, his role shifted within Nintendo over the past few years. Rather than focusing on game development, he’s been involved with other initiatives like The Super Mario Bros. Movie, Super Nintendo World, and more. Nearly a decade ago, Miyamoto was given the new title “Creative Fellow”.

Nintendo PlayStation Final Fantasy Hironobu Sakaguchi

Back in the day, Final Fantasy was a franchise that was strongly tied to Nintendo. Up until Final Fantasy VI, you could always see the series’ different RPGs on platforms like the NES.

Final Fantasy VII is where things took a turn though. While the game was originally planned for the SNES and some consideration was given to the N64, it ended up releasing on PlayStation instead. That move made Final Fantasy creator Hironobu Sakaguchi feel like he cheated on Nintendo, especially given how the NES helped jumpstart his career.
