Along with today’s screenshot, Sakurai passed along the following message on Miiverse:

Pic of the day. There will be trophies in the 3DS and Wii U games, and each version will boast different types and models. The 3DS trophies will be mainly from handhelds and the Wii U version will feature trophies from the home-console games.

Wanted to take a few minutes to talk about my top 3 games of 2013. You can also find this in written form at the link below:

Hopefully this video will tide you over while I work on/finish up the next true “Random Thoughts” entry. Finally decided on something worthwhile to talk about!

Apologies for any awkwardness and/or me sounding too boring. This video stuff is still new to me, so hopefully I’ll improve as I go along!

In 2014, Keiji Inafune of Comcept would like to have “The Year of the Attack”.

Inafune, speaking to 4Gamer, said that for titles like Mighty No. 9, the studio wants to be able to move content on its own. Comcept will of course welcome partners and publishers and work hard alongside them, given the opportunity.

Additionally, Comcept really wants to focus and increase the range on its own content. Along with gaming areas, they want to see how far the extent of their content can go.

In all of that, Inafune believes that 2014 will be a very fun year.

Wii U eShop

HullBreach Studios has announced a new title for the Wii U eShop. HullBreach: Uncloaked is planned for the digital store, the company revealed through a tweet posted earlier today.

HullBreach: Uncloaked is a space shooter, with Escape Velocity and EVE Online cited as its influences. No word yet on a timeframe for launch.

3DS owners should find a new puzzle waiting for them in the StreetPass Mii Plaza. Nintendo has started sending out a panel for Chibi-Robo! Photo Finder. As long as you have SpotPass enabled, it’ll show up shortly.

Thanks to Nintendad for the tip.

Shin’en is busy working on FAST Racing Neo for the Wii U eShop. Additionally, the studio has a second new project that will be announced in the very near future.

Art director Martin Sauter said on his website that the mysterious game “should get revealed in the next few weeks”. No further information was provided.

Sauter also left the following tease about FAST Racing Neo:

I can’t post too many information at the moment, but I can cconfirm, that this will not be a simple port or remake of the Wii version. It will be a standalone, full new product and we try it to create the most exciting eShop game in 2014.

Thanks to WALEED for the tip.

Nintendo kicked off a worldwide contest for NES Remix on Miiverse a couple of weeks ago that had players trying to complete a stage as fast as possible. However, an exploit was discovered which allowed users to unfairly manipulate their times. This has resulted in Nintendo cancelling the contest outright.

Director Koichi Hayashida wrote in a Miiverse post:

Hello Everyone. Thank you very much for participating in this event. Unfortunately, we confirmed that there is a way to exploit the challenge to achieve a faster time. In the interest of being as fair as possible, we decided to terminate the event without recognizing the fastest time. We know that you dedicated a lot of time and effort towards achieving your fastest time possible. We sincerely apologize for this matter, particularly because the vast majority of people played fairly. We appreciate your understanding. Thank you.

For those wondering, the exploit apparently lets players cheat the clock by repeatedly pausing the game.
