Devil Summoners: Soul Hackers’ cut voicework is limited to map NPCs

Atlus recently said that it cut down on Devil Summoners: Soul Hackers’ voicework “just a bit”. The publisher has since clarified that statement.
Almost all of the original voices have been recorded in English. The only exception pertains to map NPCs. Writing on the company’s official forums, Atlus noted that the decision was made to save time and costs.
“The voicework that was cut was the map NPCs. The reason we cut that was because the JP version used one voice for every type of person: every man had the same voice, every woman had the same voice. It was pretty ridiculous, since these are definitely not the same person. To save time (and, yes, costs for studio work and actors), and to improve the work as a whole, we took out that bit.”

Runner2 causing lock-up issues on Wii U
Posted on 12 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Podcast Stories, Wii U eShop | 0 comments
Runner2 is an absolutely lovely game. We suggest that you grab it from the Wii U eShop when you have the chance. There is just one problem with Runner 2’s release: lock-up issues.
Numerous users have noted that Runner2 causes the Wii U to freeze and lock-up when exiting the game. This doesn’t appear to be isolated, unfortunately.
Thanks to Jake for the tip.

Producer reiterates reasons for lack of Lords of Shadow 2 on Wii U
Posted on 12 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Podcast Stories, Wii U | 0 comments
Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 producer David Cox has once again commented on why the Wii U won’t be receiving his game.
As Cox told Eurogamer, developer MercurySteam simply doesn’t possess enough resources. The team would need to tack on another 20 staffers just to make a Wii U port possible.
Cox explained:
“The reason why we are developing it on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 is simply because that’s the amount of people we got. If we want to do a Wii U conversion, that’s another 20 people. We just don’t have the resources or the budget to do it. It’s not to say we wouldn’t do it, it’s to say at this point we don’t want to lose focus on what we’re doing. We’ve got a certain way down the line, and it would be a distraction to have to do a port to another system at this point.”
Cox won’t rule out Lords of Shadow 2 for Wii U completely. It could happen in the future, but fans shouldn’t hold their breath for the time being.
“Game development is about managing resources. You say to yourself, can I take on another 20 people? It’s just a nightmare to manage at this point. That’s the only reason why we’re not doing any other formats. Also, the MercurySteam office is at breaking point right now. It’s rammed. They bought the office for 60 people, and there are 110 now. People are sitting on each other’s laps almost. It’s all these kind of logistical issues about the development.”

Yoshi featured in Android game “Era’s Adventures”
Posted on 12 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News | 0 comments
In the past, we’ve seen iOS and Android games that rip off Nintendo games in not-so-subtle ways. But Era’s Adventures is different. Rather than attempting to copy any particular title, this new Android release takes Yoshi and places the character in a completely different setting.
Just what is Era’s Adventures? Its creator describes the game as “a brand new 3D action game for Android devices with an amazing gameplay and stunning graphics.”
There are 15 levels included with more planned for the future. But I can’t imagine Era’s Adventures lasting too long once Nintendo catches wind of the game…
