Just like that, E3 2019 is over. It was a busy week of announcements, with Nintendo contributing a lot to the news cycle.
The latest Nintendo Direct aired on Tuesday. A number of announcements were made, including a sequel to Zelda: Breath of the Wild, No More Heroes 3, Trials of Mana (and its previous collection coming west), Contra Rogue Corps, Panzer Dragoon Remake, Empire of Sin, and The Dark Crystal. A number of ports also appeared such as The Witcher 3, Spyro Reignited Trilogy, and Alien: Isolation. On top of that, we got first looks and release dates for the likes of Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Zelda: Link’s Awakening, and Luigi’s Mansion 3.
Now that we’ve had a few days to digest everything, how do you feel about Nintendo’s presence at E3 2019, and the Direct in particular? What was your personal highlight of the show? Let us know in the comments below.

[Let’s Talk] E3 2019 hopes and dreams
Posted on 5 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in Let's Talk | 0 comments
Two weeks from today, E3 will technically be kicking off. Nintendo has three tournaments scheduled for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Super Mario Maker 2, and Splatoon 2 on June 8. Companies will also begin to hold conferences and presentations on June 9, with the much-anticipated Nintendo Direct planned for June 11. The E3 festivities will then continue through June 13.
We’re bound to get announcements throughout the entirety of E3 week, but the Nintendo Direct is when fans of the Big N will be paying attention in particular. Nintendo has said it will focus on software planned for Switch in 2019, but we’re bound to get a reveal or two. The spotlight should also be put on the likes of Zelda: Link’s Awakening, Pokemon Sword/Shield, Animal Crossing, Luigi’s Mansion, Astral Chain, and more.
Since we’re so close to E3, we want to know about your hopes and dreams for the show. If Nintendo were to announce one new game, what would you want it to be? What are your expectations for E3 in general? Share your thoughts with us in the comments below.
[Let’s Talk] Favorite custom stages in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
Posted on 5 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in Let's Talk, Switch | 0 comments
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate’s big 3.0 update has been available for a few weeks now. That means players have access to the new content and features, including Stage Builder. The great thing about the Stage Builder is that anyone can easily create a level, upload it online, and have it played by others right away. Of course, some have received more recognition than others – and the “Yeah!” system also comes in to play, where highly-rated creations will be easier to spot.
Since Stage Builder has been up and running for awhile, we want to know what favorites you’ve come across thus far. Is there a level you’ve made that you’d like to share? Let us know in the comments below.

[Let’s Talk] Your favorite memories of Reggie Fils-Aime
Posted on 5 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in Let's Talk | 0 comments
It was the end of an era this week with Reggie Fils-Aime retiring from Nintendo of America. Reggie had a lengthy stay with the Big N having been there for over 15 years, including his role as president for 13 years.
Reggie was very different compared to your average company executive. He developed a fan following thanks to his personality, various appearances, and meme-worthy moments. Reggie was on stage at E3, in video presentations, at launches for new systems and games, and more. He was never afraid to embrace the community or poke fun at himself either.
Since Reggie has retired from Nintendo, we want to know what your favorite memory is of him during his time at the company. Was it his initial introduction at E3 2004? The time when he said “What’s wrong with you?” if you didn’t own a 3DS during one of the first showings of a Nintendo Direct presentation? Let us know in the comments below.

[Let’s Talk] Your dream Nintendo x indie collaboration
Posted on 5 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in Let's Talk | 0 comments
This week’s Nindies Showcase ended in a surprising way. Who could have seen a new Crypt of the NecroDancer game coming that stars The Legend of Zelda? But that’s exactly what we’re getting with Cadence of Hyrule – Crypt of the NecroDancer Featuring the Legend of Zelda (certainly a long title, isn’t it?).
Cadence of Hyrule is in many ways a landmark game. We haven’t really seen Nintendo offer up one of its IPs to an indie developer before. This sort of announcement makes you wonder what else could be possible in the future. Now that the gates have opened, what types of collaborations would you like to see between Nintendo and other indie titles in the future? What would be the game and who would be the developer? Let us know about the ideas you have in the comments below.

This week’s Pokemon Direct finally gave fans a look at the next generation of Pokemon games. Compared to some past reveals, we actually saw quite a lot. Not only did we get our first look at what things are actually looking like, but the three starters were revealed. Finally, we know that Pokemon Sword/Shield are launching in late 2019.
Based on what has been shown thus far, what do you think of Pokemon Sword/Shield? Which starter Pokemon are you liking the most at the moment? Let us know in the comments below.
