Ubisoft has confirmed its lineup for PAX East. Highlights include Assassin’s Creed IV, Watch Dogs, and Splinter Cell: Blacklist.

Ubisoft has also shared details on specific plans for its lineup, such as an “exclusive look” at Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flags and “never-before-seen Watch Dogs content”. The full overview – including pre-order incentives – is posted below.
[N]Gamer goes out of print

We’ve seen the closure of two big Nintendo magazines within the past year. Nintendo Power ended its 20+ year run in 2012, and UK publication Nintendo Gamer shuttered last year as well.
Yet another Nintendo magazine announced its end today. Dutch publication [N]Gamer is calling it quits after being in print for close to a decade.
I suppose this just goes to show that magazines truly are in decline…
Latest Zelda: Symphony of the Goddess tour dates

The Zelda: Symphony of the Goddess tour may be coming to a city near you. More concerts are lined up starting next Saturday and lasting through mid-September.

Small edit on Facebook page may hint at impending Batman: Arkham reveal

Warner Bros. is planning on releasing a brand new Batman: Arkham game this year. Rumors have suggested that Rocksteady Studios, the developer behind the series’ first two titles, isn’t making the game. Instead, Warner Bros. Montreal may be handling the project.
Might an announcement be on the way? The official Batman: Arkham Asylum page has been deleted, and the Arkham City page has been renamed to “Batman Arkham” – maybe hinting at an upcoming announcement.
F-Zero AX discovered in F-Zero GX

F-Zero GX has been around for many, many years, but it wasn’t until recently that an incredible discovery was made. It appears that the GameCube title includes F-Zero AX – GX’s arcade equivalent.
You can’t access AX under normal circumstances. Special Action Replay codes are required to boot up the title. Visit this link for the full listing of codes.
OFLC rates Crystal Warriors

Tales Adventure isn’t the only Game Gear game recently rated by the ESRB. We’ve detected a rating for Crystal Warriors as well.
The rating is likely signaling an overseas release for the classic title on the 3DS. Japan already received the game on the eShop last month.

Shigeru Miyamoto recently made a media tour in North America. The press were given an opportunity to chat with the creator of Mario, Zelda, and countless other IPs.
One such interview from GameSpot covers areas such as Pikmin 3’s delay, the possibility of remaking more games for Wii U (like Wind Waker), what it’s like working with overseas developers such as Next Level Games,
the challenges with Wii U’s messaging, and more.

EA could adopt “a couple of new sports franchises”

In the sports field, EA is known for IPs such as Madden and FIFA. Going forward, however, the publisher could take on additional franchises.
EA chief financial officer Blake Jorgensen was asked about the company’s upcoming releases at the Wedbush Technology Conference today. In response, Jorgensen said:
“For us, the big opportunities continue to be the FIFA franchise, the Battlefield franchise and then the core sports [franchises] of Madden [NFL], NCAA [Football], NHL, adding NBA [Live] and possibly a couple of new sports franchises along that way. Clearly, that’s a big strength of the company and we want to continue that.”
Could EA take on the UFC series? Last year, the company confirmed that it had entered with UFC a “multi-year, multi-product partnership.”
TT Fusion: A Skylanders-esque LEGO game won’t be happening any time soon, according to lead developer

Speaking with NowGamer, TT Fusion’s lead developer for the upcoming LEGO City: Undercover has said that the studio isn’t looking at making an NFC-based, figurine-attached game using LEGO figures anytime soon, despite the facts that such an idea would clearly be ridiculously popular, and the Wii U Gamepad already has NFC technology built into it.
Perhaps the studio simply wants to release their new game first, see what kind of press it gets, and then think about doing something new and interesting like that. Something tells me they’ll be more interesting in simply making another open-world LEGO City game though.
Miyamoto talks retirement

Retirement is a topic that often comes up during interviews with Shigeru Miyamoto these days. One day, Miyamoto is going to have to step away from Nintendo.
That day hasn’t arrived just yet. While Miyamoto is prepping Nintendo for the day that he does retire, the “volume” of his work hasn’t changed one bit.
Below are Miyamoto’s thoughts about retirement in full:
“This year I’m past 60; I’m going to be turning 61 this year. So for me to not be thinking about retirement would be strange. But in fact, the number of projects I’m involved in–and the volume of my work–hasn’t changed at all.”
