GoldenEye 007 remaster cancelled Nightdive

In a new interview, Nightdive Studios revealed that Nintendo put an end to a possible GoldenEye 007 remaster.

Nightdive, which has brought back a bunch of classic games over the past decade, was hoping to tackle GoldenEye as one of its projects. However, that ultimately didn’t come to be. GoldenEye 007 has always been messy in terms of rights, and while Nightdive had mostly managed to iron things out, it turns out that Nintendo wasn’t on board with the idea.

Nintendo Switch 2 tariff 145 percent

Nikkei issued a report today indicating that Nintendo Switch 2 is set to face a 145 percent tariff hit with most production taking place in China.

There’s been a lot of discussion as of late over the console’s price and how much Nintendo would be impacted. It’s true that various tech products will be exempt – at least for now – from tariffs initiated by President Trump. However, that does not seem to apply to gaming consoles. Nikkei Asia says it has seen “an internal assessment memo by a major Apple and Nintendo supplier” which indicates that the 145 percent tariff affecting goods made in China is still in place.
