At the moment, Grid 2 isn’t heading to Wii U. Codemasters actually doesn’t have any titles in the works for the console that we know about.

That being said, the company is leaving the door ajar for future possibilities.

Grid 2 associate producer Iain Smith told Joystiq that “there’s every opportunity at some point down the line” of a Wii U version. He added that other Codemasters games aren’t being ruled out for the system either.

Smith stated:

“It’s not being ruled out certainly. And certainly [that applies] across all Codemasters titles. Some platforms are more appropriate for certain types of games, but we just have to make decisions as and when they’re appropriate. We can’t say too much more at the moment.”

Square Enix is probably pretty content with the number of subscribers they’ve managed to get to pay for Dragon Quest X every month, even if the figure (300K) is only half of what Final Fantasy XI brought in at its peak. This isn’t necessarily surprising given the Final Fantasy brand name, but there’s something to be said for Dragon Quest’s almost-equal popularity over in Japan which might serve to trouble the folks behind the game.

Still, they rake in about 4 million dollars a month (¥300 million) with these numbers, and that’s not including North American or European additions.

A new piece of downloadable content is planned for the Japanese release of Fire Emblem: Awakening next week. It kicks off the “Future of Despair” section of DLC.

“Another Story: Future of Despair 1” is a four star mission in which players are required to rescue Cynthia, Degel, Noire and Nn. The three characters are being kept in a prison, with enemies attacking around them. You’ll need to rescue everyone as quickly as possible since each is held up in an individual prison. Special conversations are made available if he mothers and fathers move next to the children of this world.

Japanese gamers can purchase the first Future of Despair episode on October 4 for 250 yen.
