Namco Bandai community rep impressed with Project X Zone interest
Posted on 12 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, News | 0 comments
Project X Zone seems like one of those games that would be more difficult to localize compared to other Japan-only titles. It’s arguably very niche, and features a ton of different IPs – which could make it difficult to bring to North America and Europe.
Having said that, Namco Bandai is aware of Project X Zone fan interest overseas. Community strategist Rich Bantegui had the following exchange with a fan, noting that he’s “blown away by the amount of interest in the title.”
@videogame554 Sup Anthony, just like my recent answer – I havent heart any news. But im blown away by the amount interest in the title.
— Rich Bantegui(@Filthierich) December 13, 2012
Last we heard, Tekken producer Katsuhiro Harada said he was pushing hard for localization. If that’s still the case and the fans remain interesting, maybe Project X Zone will head to North America and/or Europe one day.
Thanks to Alfalfa for the tip.

Disney Interactive will be showing off its answer to Activision’s Skylanders franchise, “Disney Infinite”, next month. Chief creative officer of Walt Disney and Pixar Animation Studios John Lasseter and Disney Interactive co-president John Pleasants will be on hand to unveil the title.
The press will get a first-hands look at Disney Infinity during an event on January 15.
An October article from the New York Times outlined Disney Infinity as a “console game with extensive mobile and online applications in which various Pixar and Disney characters will interact with one another for the first time.”
UK tabloids blame Call of Duty and Dynasty Warriors for Sandy Hook school tragedy
Posted on 12 years ago by Austin(@NE_Austin) in General Gaming, News | 0 comments
After any tragic public display of violence– such as the recent, heartbreaking shooting at Sandy Hook elementary in Newtown, Connecticut– there is always a certain subset of society that instantly tries to find something to blame like video games, movies, gun control laws, the media, etc. While narrowing the causes down to anything so simple is somewhat shortsighted and narrow-minded, it hasn’t stopped the UK tabloids from spreading misinformation about the shooter from Friday’s events.
“The Sun” and “The Daily Express” have both said they got information from a plumber (the irony is not lost) who got a look into the basement room where the shooter spent most of his time, and they said he appeared to play “Call of Duty” and “Dynasty Warriors”.

Posted on 12 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, News, Podcast Stories | 0 comments
A whole slew of Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon details can be found below. Also be sure to view new screenshots and artwork which we posted earlier today.
– Each location Luigi visits is broken down into a series of missions provided by Professor E. Gadd
– Luigi will receive a checklist of objectives, with waypoints coming courtesy of a DS-esque device that features a full map
– Tasks are usually straightforward, but not always simple
– Ex: to obtain an attachment for the Poltergust 5000 vacuum, need to go through different rooms, search for hidden pathways, keys and treasure, while battling ghosts which continuously block your path or steal what you seek
– Cash and gems more important than ever
– These contribute to a mission-by-mission score based on clearance time, ghosts defeated, cash acquired and more
– They’re also used for vacuum upgrades
– According to Nintendo there isn’t a store you specifically use
– Tweaked flash-then-capture system
– Different ghosts have been designed to test Luigi’s various capabilities
– Ghosts can vanish quickly
– In these cases, you’ll need to be quick in switching from strobe to vacuum
– Other ghosts have ranged attacks, punishing you if you attempt to drain their life for too long
– Some spirits wear sunglasses
– Need to stun them with a flash and remove their glasses first
– Within the first few missions, Luigi receives a new attachment to his vacuum and the Dark-Light Device
– Dark-Light Device: uncover hidden objects and enemies
– Everything above takes place within the span of a couple missions within the first mansion
– Creaky, twisted location called the Old Clockwork Mansion is in the game

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance producer reiterates: no Wii U version
Posted on 12 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Podcast Stories, Wii U | 0 comments
Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance producer Yuji Korekado confirmed last week that a Wii U version isn’t planned. When asked by Eurogamer about the possibility once more, Korekado reiterated: “We aren’t currently thinking about that.”
Here’s Korekado’s explanation:
“We aren’t currently thinking about that. One of the strongest appeals of the Wii U is the GamePad. However, we’ve constructed Metal Gear Rising so you can fully enjoy the game on the controllers whether it’s on the PS3 or the Xbox. So, currently we aren’t thinking about Metal Gear Rising on the Wii U.”
