Rumor: Telltale to make more Back to the Future games
Posted on 12 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in General Nintendo, Rumors, Wii | 0 comments
Telltale made a number of Back to the Future adventure grahpic games last year. Amid the series’ success, rumor has it that the developer will be returning to the IP in the near future.
One GameSpot reader claims that Doc Brown actor Christopher Lloyd told FanExpo attendees about his plans to once again provide voice work for an unannounced Back to the Future title.
Beyond this, Lloyd had nothing additional to share. Telltale Games is remaining mum for now, saying:
“We are unable to comment on any unannounced titles or projects from Telltale Games.”
Telltale has been focusing on its Walking Dead titles, so we may not receive a confirmation regarding a new Back to the Future game (or series) until that’s all wrapped up. But given the popularity of the first few releases, it wouldn’t be surprising if an announcement is made sooner rather than later.

Nintendo Bringing Wii U to PAX Prime
Posted on 12 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, DS, General Nintendo, News, Wii, Wii U | 0 comments
Nintendo has announced its lineup for PAX Prime 2012. Not only will the Wii U be playable, but the eShop game Fluidity: Spin Cycle will make its debut at the show.
The Big N’s full lineup is posted below, along with more information.
SEATTLE–(BUSINESS WIRE)– This year’s PAX Prime event will be action-packed, thanks to special game sampling opportunities and activities from Nintendo. Taking place Aug. 31 through Sept. 2 at Seattle’s Washington State Convention Center, the show will offer attendees the opportunity to play the groundbreaking Wii U™ system and several upcoming games, including Pikmin™ 3, ZombiU™ and New Super Mario Bros.™ U. The Wii U console launches this holiday season and introduces the Wii U GamePad, a controller with a 6.2-inch touch screen that redefines how people interact with their games, their entertainment and one another. The Nintendo booth (#462) will be the site of hands-on Wii U game demos, giving fans an early chance to check out the system’s unique integrated second-screen gaming experiences.
PAX Prime attendees can also visit the Nintendo Gaming Lounge on levels 2 and 3 of the North Galleria to experience unreleased games for the Nintendo 3DS™ and Nintendo DS™ hand-held systems and a special Kirby™ game collection for the Wii™ console. All Nintendo 3DS software will be playable on the new Nintendo 3DS XL, which features 90 percent larger screens compared to Nintendo 3DS. Fans of the Kirby, Paper Mario™ and Kid Icarus™ series will enjoy one-of-a-kind opportunities to celebrate these extraordinary franchises, and the Nintendo Gaming Lounge will include a special Pokémon™ area, where fans can gather to battle and trade with other Pokémon Trainers.
Next Nintendo Direct taking place tomorrow, no Wii U updates
Posted on 12 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, General Nintendo, News, Wii U | 0 comments
Per its usual bi-monthly schedule, a new Nintendo Direct will be taking place tomorrow. The event is set for 7 AM ET / 4 AM PT.
Don’t expect any Wii U updates with tomorrow’s broadcast. Only the 3DS, and maybe a measly bit of Wii content, will be covered.
Keep track of this page for a stream. We should also have the live video on the site prior to the start of the broadcast and will have live updates as it progresses.
Thanks to 4Him for the tip.

Another round of European NSMB2 promo ads

These aren’t real ads – they’re made by Nintendo of Europe to promote New Super Mario Bros. 2. That doesn’t make them any less neat, however!

ZombiU details, a look at notifications
Posted on 12 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii U | 0 comments
We’ve posted a bunch of ZombiU details below. Additionally, you can take a look at a screencap (from this video) showing off the in-game notifications. This element is explained in the latest information batch.
– There are five “special” zombies that are more skilled
– Notifications in the game come from the community and other players, along with your friends
– Community is able to rate messages
– 4 NPCs will be important for the story
– Looking for the “Royal Doctor” inside Buckingham
– This man is researching a cure to the zombie virus
– Location is after 7-8 missions
– Over 100 staffers working on the project
– 90 come from the Montpellier studio
– 30 more in Romania are making multiplayer maps
– Key codes will be added to your mini-map after they’re scanned
– Three GamePad slots: quick and easy item access
– Slots can be used for the backpack items you utilize the most
– Zombies are attracted to sound and light
– “Prepper” NPC (guiding voice in the E3 demo) is married to “Sondra”
– The two have separated
– Prepper tends to barricade survivors within the safehouse
– His wife is part of an organization that looks to have survivors flee the city
– Roughly 2/3 of the NPCs determine how the scenario progresses
– Best to use the crossbow in outside levels and for long distance shots
– Game randomly generates your next character to play as after dying
– There will be on-screen messages showing your friends’ and friend’s zombie activity
– Learn about what your zombie, otherwise known as the former play, is doing to others
– Leaderboards keep track of these interactions
Thanks to Chad for the tip.
ESRB rates Karateka remake for Wii U
Posted on 12 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii U | 0 comments
Karateka was originally released in 1984. It was made by Prince of Persia creator Jordan Mechner.
Earlier this year, it was revealed that the rhythm-fighting game would be seeing a remake. It now appears that the project is slated for the Wii U – at least that’s what the ESRB says.
The ratings board rated Karateka for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PC, and iOS. Assuming the ESRB is accurate, it’s also on the way to Nintendo’s new console. An official announcement hasn’t been made yet, so let’s hope this isn’t a screw-up!
