This scan has been receiving attention in Japan as some of its art differs from last week’s scan

Tales series producer Hideo Baba recently chatted with Famitsu about the next game in the franchise.

Once again, Baba said it’ll be a mothership game. The title’s catchphrase, “Are you prepared to destroy the world for the girl?”, ties into both the story and gameplay systems.

The next Tales project is changing things up quite a bit. Unlike previous releases which featured “high fantasy” (swords, magic, and other related elements), the new game is dressed with a more modern theme and a world view with thick cultural elements.

Don’t be worried that Namco Bandai will be shaking things up too much – Baba feels that it will maintain the Tales play feel. At the same time, he noted how the development team is trying to take the new “Tales of” to the next level.

Konami is preparing two patches for New Love Plus that will fix issues in the game and enhance the experience slightly.

One patch, which will be out in June, corrects bugs and improves the touch controls. In addition, refinements will be made to the different forms of communication with your girlfriend.

A second patch launches between late August and early September. Some of the update’s inclusions will speed up some controls, correct the To Do event system, and reform the schedule input screen.

Thanks to 4Him for the tip.

A Final Fantasy VII remake isn’t Square Enix’s number one priority at the moment. Tetsuya Nomura, speaking with Famitsu this week, noted that he’s aware of fan interest in a possible makeover. Currently though, Nomura is occupied with making new games. He hopes the quality of these new titles match – or surpass – Final Fantasy VII.

Nomura mentioned one additional Final Fantasy-related tidbit with Famitsu. He feels Yoshinori Kitase is the true successor to the series. Kitase has been involved with the Final Fantasy IP for over two decades, working on nearly every mainline entry since Final Fantasy V.

Nice to see Nintendo still promoting Kid Icarus: Uprising. We shouldn’t be forgetting about the game so soon!

Since the March 23 launch of Kid Icarus: Uprising on the Nintendo 3DS system, legions of fans have experienced the game’s action-packed multiplayer features. To make it easier than ever for fans to come together, Nintendo of America has created a Multiplayer Battle Day Meetup Everywhere community that people can use to organize their own local Kid Icarus: Uprising multiplayer tournaments, meetups and social gatherings*.

Fans and Nintendo 3DS users are encouraged to get together and battle it out on Saturday, May 19, which has been designated as Kid Icarus: Uprising Multiplayer Battle Day. Using a broadband Internet connection or local wireless connection, players who own a Nintendo 3DS and Kid Icarus: Uprising can compete in the game’s frenetic multiplayer modes, whether battling it out in three-on-three Light Versus Dark mode or six-player Free-for-All mode. The 20 groups with the most participants will receive special Kid Icarus: Uprising premium items such as AR Card packs and T-shirts, while supplies last.

After staying with Lionhead Studios for fifteen years, Peter Molyneux left the company just a couple of months ago. Now he’s able to completely speak his mind!

What does Molyneux hope to see at this year’s E3? Among other things, he says “Nintendo’s slightly lack lustre Wii U is going to have to blow us away with better specs and great 1st party line up.”

I’m sure Nintendo won’t talk about the Wii U’s specs next month, but they’ll certainly showcase a heavy amount of software. Maybe some of Molyneux’s initial disappointment will melt away after E3.
