Ubisoft: ZombiU is “very hard”
Posted on 12 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii U | 0 comments
ZombiU will be far from a walk in the park. Ubisoft Monpellier’s international product manager Nicolai Bouchai says that the team would like to “target and challenge the gamers”.
“We really want to target and challenge the gamers with ZombiU because this game is very hard. So for example when you finish the game you will unlock a new mode called Survival Mode. You will have to finish the game with only one life and only one character.”
Bouchet believes that a large percentage of Wii U launch buyers will consist of core players. As such, Ubisoft is making an experience that appeals to this group.
“We know there are a lot of gamers expecting a lot with the Wii U, so that’s why we want to deliver this experience and dedicate it to the gamers.”

Konami has sent out an official announcement regarding the delay for Castlevania: Lords of Shadow – Mirror of Fate. The game is now scheduled to launch in early 2013.
Producer David Cox commented on the delay, noting that the Konami and developer MercurySteam “want to take the necessary time needed to give fans a handheld title unlike any other.”
Cox said:
“It’s been two years since the enormous success of Castlevania Lords of Shadow, and with this next installment, we want to take the necessary time needed to give fans a handheld title unlike any other. Castlevania: Lords of Shadow – Mirror of Fate will bridge the storyline to Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2, also planned to release in 2013. Both titles will reveal the shocking fate of the Belmont Clan in a dramatic culmination of the Lords of Shadow saga.”

Sony Computer Entertainment Europe’s Jim Ryan feels that the 3DS and Vita are “very different propositions”. At the same time, however, Ryan said that the two portables could see “some collision” as Vita starts to “skew to a younger demographic”.
Ryan told CVG:
“I think the gaming offerings [of 3DS and Vita] are so different right now that I think there’s plenty of space for both systems to live side by side quite happily. …I think over time that the PlayStation Vita will – like all consoles to – skew to a younger demographic, so there will be some collision there.”
Ryan also noted that Nintendo “is always a competitor”.

A new discovery strongly suggests that Call of Duty: Black Ops II is in the works for Wii U.
Randall Herman is currently occupied with the Treyarch new shooter as a QA tester. Interestingly, his LinkedIn profile clearly mentions the Wii U as one of the platforms he’s working with.
Below is the noteworthy blurb in full:
“QA tester for Call of Duty: Black Ops 2. Duties include QA testing on PS3 and Wii U, multiplayer testing while collaborating with team, ad hoc testing, and regression. Bug writing, research, and documentation are performed with each issue that is found.”
There have been a number of hints that Call of Duty: Black Ops II is in development for Wii U, but Activision still hasn’t announced anything officially. This is one of the strongest pieces of evidence we’ve seen yet indicating that the title will be released on the new console.
