Final Formation launches next week for Nintendo Switch, new trailer

City Connection and Happymeal have announced that Final Formation will be launching for Nintendo Switch on October 30, 2025.
Final Formation is the second addition to the “Sci-Fi Multiverse Trilogy”. The game was originally planned to launch last year, but has now finally received a definitive release date.

Triggerheart Excelica Enhanced Nintendo Switch physical release in the works

Limited Run Games today shared the news that it’s planning a Nintendo Switch physical release for Triggerheart Excelica Enhanced, a vertical shoot ’em up game.
Only a standard version will be available. However, each unit includes a booklet (the contents of which have not yet been detailed).
Retro wanted new cutscenes for Metroid Prime Remastered, but Nintendo decided against it

A new detail has been revealed about what could have been for Metroid Prime Remastered, which is that the game came close to having new cutscenes.
This was something that Retro Studios actually wanted to pursue for the Nintendo Switch release. However, Nintendo ultimately vetoed the idea. Kensuke Tanabe, the game’s producer, explained that “the cutscenes were not created solely for dramatic effect; they also played a role in conveying gameplay-relevant information to the player.”
DunHero, a roguelite RPG adventure, heading to Nintendo Switch

Today, RedDeerGames announced a partnership with independent developer Dev Kacper to bring DunHero to Nintendo Switch. A release window wasn’t provided.
DunHero is an action-packed roguelite RPG adventure. Players will select their character, level up, and collect powerful items, as they look to free the world from evil.

Metroid Prime ended up as one of the most acclaimed Nintendo games of all time, but the path getting there was far from easy. Series producer Kensuke Tanabe recently opened up about the game’s development and working with Retro Studios in the upcoming Metroid Prime 1-3: A Visual Retrospective book.
As we’ve previously heard, Retro Studios was initially working on several games that were mostly scrapped. The company shifted all of its focus into creating a Metroid game following a visit from Shigeru Miyamoto.

Night Strike Gear out on Nintendo Switch tomorrow

Announced earlier this year with no confirmed release date, Night Strike Gear finally got an update for its Nintendo Switch launch. M2 surprised fans by revealing that the game will be available starting tomorrow, October 23, on the console.
Night Striker Gear is a retro 3D shoot ’em up and a follow-up to the Taito-developed Night Striker, which originally launched in 1989.

Publisher Big Fan Games and developer Shiny Shoe have announced that the “Echoes From the Void” update for Monster Train 2 will arrive on November 5.
The update dares strategists to tackle two brand-new boss encounters, a lineup of fresh Dimensional challenges, and over 50 new mutators that shake up Monster Train 2’s gameplay in inventive and exciting ways.

The latest news about Marvel Cosmic Invasion is in, as Iron Man and Phoenix have now been confirmed and we have the release date.
Iron Man and Phoenix fill out the remaining parts of the roster. Both were previously leaked as part of a datamine of the game’s demo. Vagrus: The Riven Realms announces DLC release At the Heart of Ruin

Lost Pilgrims Studio has just announced the release of a brand-new DLC for its game Vagrus: The Riven Realms. Described by the developer as its most ambitious project yet, At the Heart of Ruin will launch on other consoles on October 22, with a Nintendo Switch release to follow at a later date.
This new expansion significantly broadens the game’s dark fantasy world and narrative foundation. Set in the Mountains of Fire, where the crumbling remains of an ancient dwarven kingdom still linger, the DLC takes players on perilous new adventures. Traversing these harsh lands will require smaller-than-usual crews, as players navigate rugged mountain terrain and face some of the most fearsome foes ever seen in Vagrus.
