Mario vs Donkey Kong icons

February 15: Going along with the release of Mario vs. Donkey Kong, new icons for the game have just been added to Nintendo Switch Online.

It looks like there’ll only be a couple of waves for this one. Still, subscribers can spend their My Nintendo Platinum Points on different designs. A bunch of characters – including Mario, Donkey Kong, and Toad – can be picked up for 10 Platinum Points each. Backgrounds and frames are going for 5 Platinum Points each.

Pentiment gameplay

Pentiment has come to Switch following its announcement yesterday, and we have gameplay. This is one of the latest releases on the platform from Xbox Game Studios.

You can find some information about the title in the following overview:

SteamWorld Headhunter put on hold

As part of its latest financial results, Thunderful CEO Martin Walfisz commented on the sales of SteamWorld Build. While we don’t have specific data, SteamWorld Build “fell slightly short of expectations”.

Switch was actually referenced specifically here. Walfisz said “the genre of this game has not really appealed to our most dedicated target audience and it has not been well-suited to the Switch console, which has traditionally been a key platform for SteamWorld games.”

Death Noodle Delivery

Publisher Troglobytes Games, in collaboration with developers Tiny Pixel and Stupidi Pixel, confirmed today that they’re putting Death Noodle Delivery on Switch. A release is planned for later in 2024.

Death Noodle Delivery is a narrative action game in which players ride a hoverboard and try to survive in a cyberpunk world on the brink of collapse. Additional details are available in the following overview:

Splatoon 3 Side Order My Nintendo reward

In celebration of the new Splatoon 3 Side Order DLC, a physical reward has just been added to My Nintendo. Currently it’s only available in North America.

Members can spend their points on a new sticker sheet. The tech stickers feature Agent 8, Pearl Drone, and a little Octoling. It measures 8.5″ x 11″. They can be placed on plastic and glass surfaces like a water bottle, laptop, window, a car, and more.

Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze martian theme

If things had gone in a different direction, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze could have featured a martian theme.

The game ultimately starts out with the Snowmads freezing DK Island, and players go on a journey to take down Lord Fredrik. However, Retro Studios artists that worked on the title says that the martian theme was considered, albeit briefly.

Azoove

Timeless Toucan will be releasing its upcoming project Azoove on Switch, the studio has announced. It will launch on the console following a PC Early Access period in 2025.
