The Super Mario Bros. Movie was one of the biggest films of the year, and it provided a boost to Nintendo’s overall business. Details about this were provided as part of the company’s latest financial results.
Nintendo spoke about the movie’s success and how “sell-through of evergreen (Switch) titles related to Super Mario from April through September increased appreciably year-on-year.” The Big N’s mobile apps and merchandise saw an increase as well.

Even though Switch is coming up on its seventh anniversary in March – and entering its eighth year on the market – Nintendo won’t be abandoning the system anytime soon.
During its financial results briefing toady, the company said it “will continue to release new titles and content for Nintendo Switch without being bound by the traditional concept of the platform lifecycle.” The company highlighted titles that are on the way from both a first-party and third-party perspective.
Nintendo Switch Online accounts at 38 million, annual playing Switch users at 117 million

Nintendo shared a couple of data points for Switch during its financial results briefing today.
The first thing to point out is that the total amount of Nintendo Switch Online members (combined with Expansion Pack) is at 38 million. The company also says the annual playing Switch users is at 117 million – up from 108 million.

Nintendo talked about Switch software sales during a financial results briefing today, and there are three key takeaways.
First, many series have seen an increase in sales with games released on the platform. A number of titles have also gone on to become long-term sellers. Finally, games like Animal Crossing and Kirby have seem more success outside of Japan on Switch.

According to Nintendo, The Legend of Zelda has been experiencing a different sales trend on Switch. It goes without saying, but the series has seen a big uptick this generation.
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild has sold over 30 million copies. It won’t be long before Tears of the Kingdom hits 20 million. Nintendo also says both games have been seeing more success in Japan.
Nintendo Accounts at over 330 million, will be foundation for Nintendo’s lasting relationship with consumers

According to a financial results briefing document, over 330 million Nintendo Accounts have been registered. Nintendo says it has even been able to reach consumers where Switch isn’t sold.
The document also acknowledges how, in the past, “it was not easy to maintain users’ information across platform generations”. But now Nintendo Accounts “will be a foundation upon which Nintendo can maintain a lasting relationship with consumers.”

Nintendo has provided an update on Super Mario Bros. Wonder, revealing that the game has sold 4.3 million copies worldwide. That’s just after two weeks on the market.
With that milestone, Super Mario Bros. Wonder is the fastest-selling Super Mario game ever.

GameXplain put together a new Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 graphics comparison for the Switch and PS5 versions following today’s launch.
One of the biggest differences between the two concerns frame rate. While it’s 60 FPS on PS5, the Switch version brings the action down to 30 FPS. Elsewhere we see some asset changes on Switch and character models that are scaled back on Nintendo’s console.
Nintendo announces live-action The Legend of Zelda movie

A new live-action movie for The Legend of Zelda is now in development, Nintendo just announced.
As was the case with The Super Mario Bros. Movie, Shigeru Miyamoto is on board and will act as producer. Avi Arad, chairman of Arad Productions Inc., will be producing as well. Wes Ball is serving as director.

Original (10/15):Minecraft Live 2023 took place just a short while ago, and announced the latest news surrounding the franchise including version 1.21 update features for the main game, the 2023 mob vote winner, Star Wars: Path of the Jedi DLC, and more.
The next big update is planned for mid-2024. Fans can expect the trial chamber, breeze mob, and other elements.
As for the 2023 mob vote winner in Minecraft, armadillo was ultimately the winner with 42.3 percent of the votes. Crab followed with 32.5 percent and the penguin rounded things out with 25.2 percent.
Minecraft already had Star Wars collaboration DLC, but now a collaboration is planned with Star Wars: Path of the Jedi. This will be available on November 7, 2023.
