Nintendo’s different online shops are experiencing maintenance today. The Wii U and 3DS eShops, Wii Shop Channel, and DSi shop are all seeing downtime. Maintenance will be completed by 7 PM PST / 10 PM EST.

Could this be related to tomorrow’s Nintendo Direct? Or is this just routine stuff?

Urban Trial Freestyle is coming to the 3DS eShop, Tate Multimedia S.A has announced. The game is due out in early 2013.

Players can expect an action bike racer containing five 3D urban environments, each with contorted terrain and ramps, background animations, and moving objects. The game also contains different game modes, leaderboards, rider and bike customization, and trophies. And unsurprisingly, stunts are a big part of the title.

Zombie Skape (DSiWare) – $1.99 / 200 points
Rytmik World Music (DSiWare) – $7.99 / 800 points
Chuck E. Cheese’s Alien Defense Force (DSiWare) – $4.99 / 500 points
Gardenscapes (3DS Download) – $7.99

Based on the number of titles here, this could be the full lineup for December 13. We may get a Wii VC or WiiWare title, but that’s about all, I imagine.

Chronoblade, announced earlier this year, is now known as Aeteno Blade. By changing the name, developer Corecell Technology hopes to avoid possible confusion with Square Enix’s games.

Aeteno Blade is a side-scroller featuring seven levels, puzzles, and 3D cut-scenes. Players will be able to perform combos by jumping, using the full moveset, and taking advantage of their sword. The camera will either zoom in or zoom out a bit based on what’s happening on screen.

At the moment, Corecell hopes to wrap up production by January 2013. It will most definitely be a 3DS eShop release and, depending on interest, it could arrive at retail as well.

Fractured Soul hasn’t arrived on the European or Australian eShops yet, but its release is still in the cards. The game has finally been approved for PAL regions, so it should launch in the near future. A release in mid-January is sounding likely at the moment.

The following message was posted on the Fractured Soul Facebook page yesterday:

“Some good news! Fractured Soul has finally been approved for Nintendo eShop in Europe/Australia/NZ! We don’t have a firm release date yet, but probably around mid January.”

Suda51 delivers a well-produced mecha anime that’s as hyperactive as it is hyper-nationalistic. But how’s the actual game?

Level 5 really haven’t been having a whole lot of luck when it comes to the 3DS. Professor Layton and Inazuma Eleven might still bring in the cash, but the company’s attempts at starting new IPs like Time Travelers and Girls RPG: Cinderella Life sold poorly. But perhaps their biggest bomb of all was Guild 01, a compilation of quirky games that sold fewer than 15,000 copies upon its first week of release despite having some well-known game designers collaborating on the project. Oddly enough, Level 5 are now giving Guild 01 a second chance by rereleasing most of the games in the compilation through the 3DS eShop. The first of these titles to be available outside of Japan is Liberation Maiden, a 3D shooter heavily inspired by Japanese cartoons – specifically the kind where plot is second to cool robots flying around and blowing stuff up.

Ninja Gaiden will finally be hitting the North American 3DS eShop next week. That’s according to yesterday’s store update, which lists a December 6 date and price of $4.99.
