Final Fantasy Tactics The Ivalice Chronicles review

System: Switch 2, Switch (reviewed)
Release date: September 30, 2025
Developer: Square Enix
Publisher: Square Enix

It has been more than twenty-five years since Final Fantasy Tactics first landed on the original PlayStation, quietly establishing itself as one of the most influential tactical RPGs ever made. While its initial release was overshadowed by the mainstream success of Final Fantasy 7, the game steadily built a reputation as a genre-defining classic. Now Square Enix has brought it back with Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles, a rerelease that preserves the essence of the original while finally delivering content that western audiences never had access to. The timing is no accident. Tactical RPGs are enjoying renewed popularity, and Square Enix appears to recognize that players – both veterans and newcomers – are ready to experience adventure in Ivalice once more.

Star Garden

Confirmed today, Star Garden will be appearing on Nintendo Switch. This was made possible after clearing a $220,000 crowdfunding goal.

If you’ve been keeping up with the Kickstarter scene, you may have heard about this one before. The interstellar adventure game takes inspiration from “from the high-energy chaos of Kirby Air Ride’s City Trial and the depth of Sonic Adventure’s Chao Garden”. On top of that, “it combines fast-paced action with meaningful growth and progression as well as the stylistic trappings and music reminiscent of Jet Grind Radio.”

Here’s a bunch of information:

Pac-Man Mega Tunnel Battle: Chomp Champs will soon be coming to an end. Not only will be delisted, but if you picked it up previously, it will no longer be playable. This was relayed on social media.

The first part of the process happens on November 1, 2025. On that date, the game will be removed from sale. Then on December 31, 2025, Pac-Man Mega Tunnel Battle: Chomp Champs will no longer be playable. Note that times may vary by region.

Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2 is just a couple of days away, but if you’re wondering how these titles are looking on Nintendo Switch 2, new gameplay has come in to serve that purpose. Footage for both releases is now available showing everything in 4K.

Remember that on Nintendo Switch, Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2 maxes out on 1080p. You’ll need to be playing on Nintendo Switch 2 for the resolution upgrade.

Coinciding with the launch of Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles, we have a new launch trailer. The tactical RPG makes its comeback today, arriving on both Nintendo Switch and Switch.

Everyone has a generation of Nickelodeon that they grew up on. As someone born in the late 90s, my association with the brand comes from the cartoons and shows they were airing between 2000 and 2009. Although I would catch some older Nicktoons on repeat broadcasts growing up, like Rugrats and Ah! Real Monsters, the shows I most associate with the kings of slime include SpongeBob SquarePants, Fairly OddParents, Danny Phantom, Jimmy Neutron and Avatar: The Last Airbender (The Legend of Aang back home in Ireland), which all aired their runs in that period, aside from the first two, which had incredible staying power and carried on airing for much longer. SpongeBob right now seems stronger than ever, in fact. I now think of this time as a happy childhood memory of loving Nickelodeon.

Brazilian studio Pepita Digital has just announced that its newest game, Master Lemon: The Quest for Iceland, is on the way to Nintendo Switch. The title, inspired by real events, is scheduled to launch on November 4.

The game serves as a tribute to Brazilian André Lima, who tragically passed away in Iceland in 2016. Inspired by his story, creator Julio Santi decided to develop the project as a heartfelt homage.

In Master Lemon: The Quest for Iceland, players take on the role of an adventurer who dreams of learning Icelandic in the Nordic country, while also facing the challenge of saving the world from a plague that consumes memories.
