Feardemic and Steelkrill Studio today announced that The Backrooms 1998 is about to enter its 1.0 release, and it’s coming to various consoles such as Nintendo Switch. Currently we do not have a release window.

The title is a psychological survival horror game that tells the story of a young teen after accidentally falling into the depths of The Backrooms in 1998. For the full release, the team has improved the visuals, updated the jumpscares, and more. Note that the experience is not for the faint of heart.

Macross: Shooting Insight physical

August 21: Red Art Games today not only provided a release date for Macross: Shooting Insight in the west, but also shared news about a physical release on Switch.

The game is now confirmed for December 6, 2024 in North America and Europe. Previously, it came to Japan in March.

Macross: Shooting Insight will receive both ESRB (US) and PEGI-rated (Europe) physical versions. Various retailers will be selling the standard edition. There’ll also be two special editions – ESRB-rated versions from VGP and PEGI-rated versions from the Red Art Games online store.

A new Pokemon Scarlet and Violet distribution has been announced featuring the Eevee Flying Tera Type distribution, though it’ll require a little bit of effort.

Most distributions for the games involving inputting a code via Mystery Gift. This time around, however, you’ll need to visit a specific store. Those in the United States will be able to check in with Best Buy or GameStop. For Canada, it’s GameStop or Toys “R” Us. Finally, in Australia and New Zealand, stop by a local EB Games. You’ll get a code card while supplies last.

Undying physical

April 18: Publisher Skystone Games and Vanimals have set a release date for the Switch version of Undying. It will launch on July 25, 2024.

Undying was originally announced for Switch at the very end of 2019 and we’ve been waiting for it since then. 

Momodora: Moonlit Farewell physical

It was just announced this week that Momodora: Moonlit Farewell is heading to Nintendo Switch, and now we know that a physical release is planned. Limited Run Games is in charge of production.

Momodora: Moonlit Farewell will have a standard copy sold alongside a collector’s edition. The latter version contains the game with interior art, soundtrack, double-sided poster, enamel pin, Momo figure, and sticker sheet.

Dead Dragons

Kemco is continuing to prepare games for Nintendo Switch having now announced Dead Dragons. It’ll be launching on February 13, 2025.

Dead Dragons is yet another RPG from the publisher. This time around players will be able to experience a story about the bond between humans and dragons.

Legacy of Kain Soul Reaver 1 & 2 Remastered update

Aspyr came out with the first update for Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 1 & 2 Remastered this week, and we have the patch notes.

The update makes a number of small improvements like the ability to press pause while watching the Bonus Materials movies. A bunch of bugs have also been fixed in both games.

Girlfriend from Hell

Publisher Sometimes You and developer That Guy’s Games are bringing Girlfriend from Hell to Nintendo Switch, they’ve announced. The game is scheduled for release on February 14, 2025.

Girlfriend from Hell is an arcade puzzler. You’ll be playing as a girlfriend seeking revenge, but keep in mind this is more of a lighthearted game.

NIS America put out a new launch trailer for Phantom Brave: The Lost Hero. After two decades, the strategy RPG franchise finally gets a new entry.
