IE Online Entertainment’s first project as an indie developer will be “Super Cordon Bleu”, the company announced today. The game is described as “a classic 2D platformer inspired by the original Super Mario Bros. series.” Precision platforming will come into play “that will hopefully test the skills of even the most hard core game masters while still providing enough charm and fun for even the most novice of gamers.”

IE Online Entertainment intends to launch a Kickstarter sometime in the future. Even if the target isn’t met, the studio tells us that Super Cordon Bleu will be completed and the title will release on both Wii U and Steam.

Secret Tunnel Entertainment has shared new details about Shapes of Gray. Primarily, we have information regarding the game’s Arcade Mode, which is showcased in the clip above.

Here’s the latest:

– Out on Wii U early next year
– Off-TV play supported
– New modes including Arcade Mode
– This has players trying to earn as high of a score as possible
– Do so by playing as quickly as possible
– At the end of each level, your remaining time will be squared, multiplied by one multiplier which reflects how many levels you’ve played without taking a hit and another which reflects your current health (x100 for 3 hearts, x50 for 2 hearts, x25 for 1 heart), and then added to your score
– No checkpoints or boss battles in Arcade Mode
– Play with the dual analog controls on the GamePad as opposed to mouse and keyboard
– The control scheme allows levels to be cleared faster
