Slightly Mad Studios again comments on the status of Project CARS’ Wii U version
Posted on 9 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii U | 30 Comments
Earlier this week, Slightly Mad Studios made a few comments indicating that the Wii U version of Project CARS is in serious jeopardy. To put things simply, the team is experiencing issues getting its game running on Nintendo’s hardware at an acceptable frame rate, and serious sacrifices may need to be made. Slightly Mad Studios’ Ian Bell also indicated that moving the Wii U version to a future Nintendo console may make more sense.
Bell has now followed up on his earlier comments with a new statement. Slightly Mad Studios hasn’t entirely given up on the possibility of a Wii U version, but if the team can’t make it work, it’ll be moved to “the next Nintendo machine.”
Here’s Bell’s statement in full:

Tomonobu Itagaki on the theme of war within Devil’s Third
Posted on 9 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii U | 11 Comments
People’s Daily was recently able to speak with Tomonobu Itagaki from Valhalla Game Studios. In one question, Itagaki was asked about how his team will will work the Chinese mobile game market into their strategy. That doesn’t have much revelance here, but he did end up discussing the upcoming Wii U title Devil’s Third and how it incorporates the elements of war.
Itagaki’s comments are as follows:
We always seek to innovate in games, and so it means they will not be the same. We’re currently working on a game called “Devil’s Third.” It is different than previous games up until now, as it is not just about fighting, but about diplomacy and forming treaties in the midst of a war in a realistic world setting. All of this is mashed up into one game. It is a world where peace is sought. My colleagues and I worked to put all this within a “war game.” Eventually it became a household game for the Wii U, but we are currently developing games for mobile too.
Devil’s Third was re-revealed as a Wii U title at last year’s E3, though we haven’t seen it since. It’ll be interesting to see if it appears at E3 2015 next month.

Another sign that the next Skylanders is called Skylanders Superchargers
Posted on 9 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, News, Wii U | 2 Comments
Rumors about the next Skylanders have been picking up steam as of late. There’s been talk about the game featuring vehicles, and earlier today, an unconfirmed name emerged: Skylanders Superchargers.
Skylanders Superchargers is looking more and more like the final title. Reader Mucrush passed along the image above, which is a snapshot from Danish retailer Fætter BR’s database. It’s listed for a number of platforms including Wii U, 3DS, and Wii. No release date is attached to the listings.
Activision hasn’t officially announced the next Skylanders, but I’m sure we’ll be hearing something soon. Chances are that it will be called Skylanders Superchargers!
