As fans begin to test different Nintendo Switch games running on Switch 2, we’re starting to hear about certain games that are automatically improved on the new system without patches. One of the biggest examples of this is Batman: Arkham Knight.
When Batman: Arkham Knight came to Nintendo Switch, it suffered from serious performance issues. Digital Foundry determined that “the CPU is pushed hard streaming in and decompressing data” due to the open world, and based on stutters in the port, it seemed that storage was stressed as well. Reaching the 30 frames per second cap just didn’t happen a lot of the time. It’d often go into the 20s and even below that, which doesn’t make for a great experience.
