January 28: Splatoon 3 will be running back its Chocolate-themed Splatfest next month: once again, players will be asked their preference between milk chocolate, white chocolate, and dark chocolate.

Wario Land 4 joining Nintendo Switch Online

Wario Land 4 is set to appear on the Nintendo Switch Online service, it’s just been announced. The game will be available as part of the Expansion Pack tier on February 14, 2025.
Wario Land 4 originally released in 2001. When the game comes to Nintendo Switch Online, you can boot up the system’s GBA app to play it.

Calico reveals “Neat Things” DLC [update: out now]

October 22: Brand new DLC has just been announced for Calico, which is known as “Neat Things”. It’ll be dropping on Switch this winter.
Players can look forward to a bunch of new content. New quests, a new character, new mini-games, and new friends are on the way.

Puyo Puyo Champions Nintendo Switch physical release revealed

Puyo Puyo Champions has been around on Nintendo Switch via the eShop, but now a physical release is in the cards. Limited Run Games just made the announcement on social media.
Puyo Puyo Champions originally came to Nintendo Switch way back in 2019. The game has always been quite cheap on the eShop, but if you want to add it to your physical collection, now you’ll be able to do so.

Him, the Smile & Bloom getting worldwide release on Switch [update: release date]

December 11: October 29: PQube just announced that it’s picked up Him, the Smile & Bloom for English localization. Expect it to launch in North America and Europe in Q1 2025.
Him, the Smile & bloom is a flower shop otome visual novel. Originally, it came to Japan this past August.

Sugardew Island release date set for March, new trailer

Rokaplay and Silver Lining Interactive just came through with a release date for Sugardew Island. The Nintendo Switch game launches digitally on March 7, 2025 with a physical version following on March 14.
Sugardew Island, a cozy farm shop sim, was announced last March. While it was originally planned for debut late in 2024, it ended up seeing a delay to early 2025.

If you’ve had some interest in Donkey Kong Country Returns HD but have yet to pick up the game, you might be interested to hear that a demo is available. Nintendo just put it up on the eShop.
As many of you know, Donkey Kong Country Returns HD already launched last week. Nintendo typically distributes these trials before launch, but that wasn’t the case here. Still, it’s better late than never.

January 15: Going along with the launch of Donkey Kong Country Returns HD, new icons based on the game have just been added to Nintendo Switch Online. Different waves will be going up over the next few weeks.
As usual, members can obtain icons for characters, backgrounds, and frames. Characters cost 10 Platinum Points each on My Nintendo. You’ll need to fork over 5 Platinum Points for backgrounds and frames.
