Splatoon – N-ZAP ’89, Octobrush weapons out now
Posted on 9 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii U | 1 Comment
Nintendo has been regularly adding new content to Splatoon, and today is no different. Two new weapons are now available in the game. Players can get their hands on the N-ZAP ’89 in addition to the Octobrush.
Here’s the overview of the N-ZAP ’89:
Ah yes, the N-ZAP ’89. This is quite simply an N-ZAP ’85 that was redesigned for… well, definitely not legal reasons. No siree. Nothing to see here. Lawyers definitely did not have anything to do with this. It includes a Sprinkler to rapidly increase your turf, allowing you to fire off remarkably fast Inkstrikes! This set is excellent at striking where the foe least expects it. Good for lone wolves and those nostalgic for the good ol’ days!
And the Octobrush:
Need a brush that packs a powerful punch? The Octobrush is a brush with denser bristles that fling even more ink with each swipe! Use that mobility to scatter Squid Beakons everywhere, giving your whole team free rein of the battlefield! No need to hesitate—you can always use the Kraken to run away in a pinch. Your team will love you!
Footage of today’s weapons can be seen below.

Disney Interactive is teasing Ant-Man for Disney Infinity 3.0. On its social media pages, the above image has been posted. It’s a clear sign that Ant-Man is coming to the game.
The only question is how Ant-Man will be represented in Disney Infinity 3.0. A figure would make sense, but a Power Disc is another possibility.
Devil’s Third – 30 FPS, no split-screen or voice chat, other specs and Itagaki comments
Posted on 9 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii U | 39 Comments
Tomonobu Itagaki made a Facebook post earlier today covering some additional information about the title.
First, the game is set at 30 frames per second. Split-screen has also been ruled out for offline and online play, as the team “used all the power of Wii U for single player.” There is also no voice chat because Valhalla Game Studios “maxed out its bandwidth to achieve online play by 16 users.”
Head past the break to read up on Itagaki’s full comments.

June 2015 NPD: Wii U/3DS sales up 20% year-over-year, 3DS up over 40% over same point last year
Posted on 9 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, New Nintendo 3DS, News, Wii U | 27 Comments
Nintendo has issued a statement to the June 2015 NPD report.
In the U.S., Nintendo says that combined Wii U and 3DS hardware sales in 2014 thus far have risen by over 20 percent year-over-year. The company added that 3DS hardware on its own has increased by more than 40 percent compared to sales obtained during the same point last year.
The full statement reads:
“Through the first six months of 2015, combined sales of Wii U and Nintendo 3DS systems have increased by more than 20 percent over the same time frame in 2014. Much of this growth can be attributed to Nintendo 3DS and the new momentum created by the launch of New Nintendo 3DS XL on Feb. 13. So far this year, sales of Nintendo 3DS hardware have increased by more than 40 percent over sales at the same point last year.”
