“Definitely don’t count the Wii U out.” That’s the message from GameStop president Tony Bartel.
With new titles scheduled to arrive on Wii U this holiday such as Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze and Super Mario 3D World, consumer interest will pick up.
According to Bartel:
“They are also launching several games later this year, so we expect to see a lot of interest from consumers as we head into the holidays.”
Kemco and Exe-Create are bringing “Alphadia Genesis” to mobile devices. It’s a JRPG with a PSOne-like feel, featuring sprites for the world map and 3D character models during battle.
So why would we be mentioning a mobile title here? Well, Alphadia Genesis has a chance of heading to Wii U.
Manager of the mobile business department Masaomi Kurokawa said the following when asked if he thought about bringing the game to consoles:
“I hope so. Since Unity supports other consoles we will try to test it first. If that works well maybe we will bring it to Vita, Wii U, and if PlayStation 4 supports it.”

Code of Princess wasn’t a huge hit in Japan, with producer Yasuo Nakajima labeling sales as being “so-so”. In North America, however, Nakajima said that the game “sold beyond our expectations.”
He said:
“In Japan, it sold so-so, but in the US Code of Princess sold beyond our expectations.”
Nakajima is interested in creating Code of Princess 2, but it sounds like he’s thinking more about the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One as opposed to Wii U. You can read about that here.
Soccer Up 3D has been discounted slightly on the North American 3DS eShop. It’s usually priced at $6.99, but you can now purchase the game for $4.99. The sale runs through July 1.

Elminage Gothic 3D Remix has been delayed about a month in Japan. Originally scheduled for July 11, it’s now set to be released on August 8. The game was pushed back “for various reason”, but nothing specific was mentioned in the announcement.
