Shadow of the Eternals, the spiritual sequel to Eternal Darkness, is coming to the Wii U through the eShop. But wouldn’t it be nice to play the GameCube game on the console as well? Like through a VC release, maybe?
That’s the question one fan asked Precursor Games on Facebook recently. In response, the studio said it “will definitely discuss” the possibility.
Check out the full Q&A below:
Q: Is there any chance that while in talks with Nintendo you can bring up a possible re-release of the GameCube’s Eternal Darkness as a Virtual Console release? It would allow hype to build on the game and allow people who had not played before to get into the series!
A: We will definitely discuss that. Thanks for the suggestion!
Of course, there is a significant roadblock: no GameCube titles have ever been made available through the Virtual Console, and Nintendo hasn’t announced any plans to do so in the future. I’m sure there are quite a few fans who would snatch up a digital re-release, though!
Tomodachi Collection: New Life shipped with a glitch that allows players to take on the role of a male Mii and fall in love, marry, and produce offspring with another male character. We say “glitch” because this isn’t how Nintendo intended to make the game. Players only encounter the situation when Miis are moved to the 3DS with the Mii transfer software.
Nintendo now intends to address the bug with an upcoming patch. The update, which should be going live soon for users, also fixes boot issues, general errors, a problem relating to saving, and an odd bug with a specific type of SpotPass notification.
The full North American website for Animal Crossing: New Leaf has gone live. Access the page here.
By visiting the site, you can check out New Leaf’s latest trailers, screenshots, and other media. There’s also lots of information about the game.
Amazon has added an extra pre-order incentive for Shin Megami Tensei IV
. If you reserve the game, you’ll receive a download code for the Eastern Kingdom of Mikado’s Samurai upper body armor. We first heard about the bonus through Amazon Canada, but the retailer is now offering the same item in the US.
Along with the costume, you’ll also be given a 176-page Strategy & Design Book from Prima Games, a Shin Megami Tensei Music Collection CD, and a Collectible Slipcase.

Remember the Okami announcement that was teased a couple of weeks back? You know, the one that had everyone praying for a new game in the series?
We soon learned that the tease was not at all related to a new entry, but something else entirely. That kind of deflated the hype.
So we can probably talk about this without a significant amount of disappointment, so long as expectations have been kept in check for the past few days.
Later this month, Capcom will release the “Okami Special Fan Box Book” in Japan. It includes a notebook, sticker sheet, ballpoint pen, coin purse/pounch, and a set of five labels. Pricing is set at 1,575 yen. It’s not the worst thing in the world (mainly for the very dedicated Okami fans like myself), but Capcom should really get on making a new Okami game!
If the Pikachu 3DS XL system is any indication, the Animal Crossing: New Leaf 3DS XL bundle will probably sell out pretty quickly. So if you’d like to ensure the product for yourself, you may want to pre-order.
We did notice that Best Buy is taking pre-orders for the Animal Crossing bundle. You can reserve the system here. Remember: in addition to the specially-designed system, it also comes with a built-in copy of Animal Crossing: New Leaf.
