Project X Zone somehow manages to tie most of its characters together. Some of the known storylines are bizarre, but I suppose that’s to be expected given the nature of the title.
Here’s a summary of how some of the characters come together:
– Dante (Devil May Cry) and Demitri Maximoff (Darkstalkers) become “friends” when Demitri stops by Devil May Cry (the shop) late one night
– Valkyrie (The Legend of the Valkyrie games) first appears and asks Dante to use his toilet
– On the cruise ship Bermuda, the ICPO and San Francisco City police are working together
– Chun-Li (Street Fighter), Bruno (Dynamite Deka), and Rikiya Busujima (Zombie Revenge) meet here
– They meet Hsien-Ko (Darkstalkers) while investigating
– If Akira (Virtual Fighter) didn’t find Jin team Tekken wouldn’t be in Project X Zone
– Jin and Xiaoyu were attacked by a demon
– Akira shows up by chance.
– The player has to move Akira over to the weakened Tekken characters and rescue them
Potentially, there’s a lot you can do with the Wii U GamePad. Most original titles will let you play the entire experience straight on the controller. Others are hoping that Virtual Console games will be capable of being streamed to the pad.
But what about playing Wii games on the controller? This is something that hasn’t been brought up before, for the most part.
Nintendo’s response to the possibility is interesting. Spanish Wii U brand manager Pepe Arcas said the following:
“We still don’t know if you can play Wii games in the Wii U GamePad. It’s not confirmed, we don’t have any information yet, but as you say (speaking to the interviewer) Wii U is… you can play old Wii games, and as you also said, the Sensor Bar is included in the Wii U GamePad, so you are able to point the Wii Remote at the Wii U GamePad. It makes sense, but we have no information or confirmation about this feature.”
Being able to play Wii titles on the GamePad would be pretty darn neat. Though, I can imagine it’d be odd controlling some of the console’s titles…

THQ has gone back and forth between calling this the Crucible and Arena mode. It is the Crucible, but the actual mode seems to be “Arena” I guess we’ll stick with that for now.
It’s business as usual on the Shin Megami Tensei IV site. There’s more new music and another developer message in today’s update.
Main programmer Satoshi Ooyama left a message on the teaser page. Ooyama says that with Shin Megami Tensei 3 Maniax, the team was trying to create the best PlayStation 2 RPG. And with Tensei IV, the staff hopes to make the best RPG on 3DS.
