Animal rights group PETA kicked off a parody against Pokemon (specifically Black/White 2) last week, complete with a playable Flash game. The organization was targeting the popular franchise because it promotes animal cruelty and linked abused animals to the Pokemon in the game.

“Pokémon are treated as unfeeling objects and used for such things as human entertainment and as subjects in experiments. The way that Pokémon are stuffed into pokéballs is similar to how circuses chain elephants inside railroad cars and let them out only to perform confusing and often painful tricks that were taught using sharp steel-tipped bullhooks and electric shock prods.”

So how does Nintendo feel about the situation? The company sent out a terse statement a few days ago:

“Nintendo and The Pokémon Company take the inappropriate use of our products and intellectual property seriously.”

Thanks to Tim for the tip.

Thanks to the Japanese Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Magnagate and the Infinite Labyrinth websites, we have even more details and brand new screenshots about the upcoming 3DS game.

Below is more content regarding the Pokemon Paradise hub, Everyone Attack, skills, and more.

– Dungeons change with the different pictures you take of a round object
– Lugia, Ho-Oh, other legendary Pokemon can be found through Magnagate feature
– Cultivate the ravaged land in Pokemon Paradise hub
– Need materials to cultivate the land
– Earn items by completing tasks in dungeons
– Facilities can rank up.
– V Wave is a mysterious wind that blows in the Pokemon world
– It’s better to journey with the same type of Pokemon as the day’s V Wave
– Acquire “heart waves” for the Pokemon partners as you progress in a dungeon used for the Everyone Attack mode
– The attack damages all surrounding enemy Pokemon and recovers HP corresponding to the protagonist Pokemon’s type
– Need to obtain all heart waves once more to use another Everyone Attack
– Skills can be ranked up if you use them often
– Once ranked up, the skill’s power, accuracy, or PP will rise
– Ex: Lightning II to Lightning III
– Once a skill has been ranked up, your other Pokemon can use that skill with the same ranked up effect
– Find team skills in dungeons
– Some of these include making it more difficult to step on traps, or showing the amount of items contained in a dungeon

A few stores will be hosting midnight launches for the Wii U next month (yes, it really is just a month away!). That includes Walmart, which is confirmed by a new internal sheet from the retailer. You should be able to grab the console at 12:00 AM as long as you have a pre-order.

The same sheet also points out that Wii U stock should arrive well before the Wii U’s launch in most cases. This is something that you’d expect, but outlets could begin to receive systems as early as November 14, and no later than November 16. Sorry though – that doesn’t mean you can get the Wii U early!

There are a few shots of the convention halls as well:

Just take a look at those images and you’ll have an idea of what we’re dealing with here: A Pokemon-themed train car(s?) that will be appearing in Japan in and around the Tohoku area. The reason I’m unsure of whether or not there is just one or multiple cars to this somewhat odd choice of decor is because there are two images of the interior, but only one of the exterior. Does that mean both interior images fit into the exterior, or that there are two cars and we’re just not seeing the other one!?

No idea. But it would be awfully fun to ride in one of these!
