Nintendo will kick off a variety of Japanese 3D photography contests on January 18. People who own a 3DS can upload photos taken on the system to a new campaign site, which you can find here. After celebrity judges choose their favorite submissions, the winners will receive prizes.

You’ll be able to see the photos that have been submitted on the campaign site. Although you can access the site on your PC, visiting the site on your 3DS will allow you to see the images in 3D.

Nintendo hasn’t announced what prizes can be expected. They’ll likely share that information and additional details before January 18.

Girls RPG: Cinderella Life was originally scheduled to hit Japan for 5,400 yen. There has been a change in plans, though. Girls RPG has received a price drop prior to its March 8 launch. Level-5 is now planning on selling the game for 4,980 yen.

This may sound a bit odd considering most titles do not see price reductions until after launch. But Level-5 is hoping that as many players as possible will purchase the title, and they believing that this move will make the price more accessible.

Bionic Commando will be released on the North American and European 3DS eShop tomorrow.

Cambridge, Mass. – December 28th, 2011 – Harmonix today announced that Rush’s ambitious seven-part suite “2112” will come to the Rock Band™ Music Store of downloadable content for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system and Wii™.

In 1976, legendary Canadian rock trio Rush released their groundbreaking fourth studio album, 2112. With its opening track – a 20-minute, seven-part suite known as “2112” – Rush painted a picture of a sci-fi world in the midst of a revolution, controlled by technology. An alternate take of this epic suite, largely considered one of the most important pieces in progressive rock, comes to Rock Band just in time for the New Year.

Cave Story 3D will be making its way to Japan next year. Nipon Ichi will be publishing the title. A release date hasn’t been announced as of yet, but CEO Sohei Shinkawa teased a collaboration with a well known retro game for the Japanese version.
