Head-to-Head Multiplayer Mode and New Motion Controls Let Players Enjoy Intergalactic Dogfighting Drama
REDMOND, Wash.–(BUSINESS WIRE)– In the distant corners of the Lylat system, the evil Andross is marshaling his forces to spread chaos, and only one team of flying heroes is up to the task of defeating him. Starting Sept. 9, Nintendo 3DS™ owners can take to the skies as Fox McCloud and his band of flying aces in the Star Fox 64™ 3D game as they soar through multiple worlds to restore order. Sept. 9 also marks the debut of the new Flame Red version of the Nintendo 3DS system, which is available at a suggested retail price of $169.99.
In addition to the full original game, Star Fox 64 3D also includes a new multiplayer mode in which up to four players can compete in an aerial dogfight to see which of them is master of the skies. Up to four Nintendo 3DS owners can compete, even if only one player has a Game Card. This mode also makes use of the Nintendo 3DS inner camera: With this optional feature, as fighters zip across the screen, players’ faces are displayed along with their ships. When one player triumphs, his or her image receives a victory crown. At the same time, the winner can relish in the other players’ images of defeat.

Not sure why, but I have an unusual amount of inspiration this evening! It’s a Wednesday night, I’m stressed out of my mind with work and school, yet I feel a weird urge to come on out here and write something so you all have something to think about when you begin your Thursdays across the globe! We’re halfway done with the week, so hang tight and a couple of days off will be at your doorstep in no time.
So last night we heard about two things, and if you’re a frequent visitor of the site, you most certainly are well acquainted with them by now: Monster Hunter Tri G, and the new 3DS Circle Pad attachment. In case you haven’t gotten all caught up, here’s the skinny on both of them:
3DS Circle Pad Attachment – Rundown/Your Thoughts?
Update: Added in more images (not website captures).
There are a couple of images (and logo) that are completely direct-feed. The rest of the screenshots are direct-feed as well, but are taken from the new Monster Hunter Tri G website (thanks Thomas N!).
Keep in mind that the images were released in a small resolution.
Monster Hunter Tri G director Kaname Fujioka and producer Ryozo Tsujimoto had a few things to say about their new title in Famitsu this week. The Capcom staff discussed the 3D visuals in the game, the new featured monster, and more. Read on for tehri full comments.
Fujioka on how the 3D visuals will impact gameplay…
“The entire game has 3D support, but basically it’s not a game designed to rely on 3D. You can hunt all you want without having to concern yourself about 3D, so you’ve got the option to play the way you like there. However, the new portside area we’ve made for the game was created with an eye for 3D visuals — giving it more depth, placing objects on top of each other, and other concepts to make the 3D more prevalent. It’s been a fun development cycle, but working with 3D has also given us a surprising amount of stress, so hopefully people turn on the 3D the first time they play!”
