PUZZLE BOBBLE UNIVERSE BURSTING ONTO NINTENDO 3DS
The classic puzzle series lifts-off into another dimension
London (21 January 2011) – Square Enix Ltd., the publisher of SQUARE ENIX® interactive entertainment products in Europe and other PAL territories, today announces PUZZLE BOBBLE UNIVERSE™, the latest adventure in the classic puzzle series, is heading to Europe and PAL territories exclusively on the NINTENDO 3DS™. The game is due for release during the 3DS Launch Period.
PUZZLE BOBBLE UNIVERSE sees brothers Bub and Bob facing more bubble trouble as they stumble across an unmanned spaceship and a distant cry for help. Unknown to the dinosaur duo, several surrounding planets have “doors” in their vicinity which have been opened, releasing floods of bubbles that are rapidly turning into hazardous space-debris. With Bob captured by the Boss, Bub must act fast to ensure the future safety of all the planets and their inhabitants.
This information comes from Nintendo UK boss David Yarnton…
“With all the conversions, when we do it in Europe we’ve got to do the whole of Europe. So it’s multiple languages. It has to be viable. We’ve got so much on our plate at the moment. The most important one is in the first quarter this year. Kirby’s Epic Yarn is the most important title. We’ve got some great product coming out. On top of that, when we add in 3DS, it’s just so much. We’ve released quite a lot of RPGs on the Wii in the UK. It’s an area that’s been growing for us. It’s up to the market. We never write anything off.”
Eventually, I believe The Last Story will be localized for North American and European markets. It just seems like a high-profile release for Nintendo. It’s a new game from the creator of Final Fantasy, bundles were made available in Japan, etc.
