Captures all the intensity, emotion and excitement of a real-life tennis match; exclusive opportunity to play as Andre Agassi, one of the all-time tennis legends
Tuesday 7th September/… 2K Sports announced today that Top Spin 4, the latest iteration of the Top Spin tennis simulation video game franchise, is scheduled to release in 2011 for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system and WiiTM system from Nintendo. As the release date draws near, 2K will inform gamers about an exciting pre-order incentive; an exclusive vintage Andre Agassi playable character.
“Top Spin 4 is shaping up to be the most realistic and exhilarating tennis game in the Top Spin franchise,” said Greg Thomas, president of product development for 2K Sports. “For this iteration, the development team is focused on delivering a bold new take on the sport of tennis by allowing gamers to experience first-hand an uncanny level of realism in the player and stadium models, authentic audio captured directly from real tennis matches, and all-new innovative controls to dominate the competition.”
At the moment, two site visitors have won a copy of Grease: The Game. And last Sunday, I said that the second part of the contest would be ending last night. But to make things easier though and speed up everything, I’m going to change things up just a bit. We’re now extending the second part of the contest to Wednesday, and eliminating the third part. Basically, the only thing you need to do still is post a comment on this page. We’ll then randomly choose four winners – two of whom will be able to choose either the Wii or DS versions. If you need me to clarify anything, feel free to shoot me an email or post a comment!
In Nintendo Power’s big blowout of Epic Mickey this month, the magazine made note of one particular collectible, a film reel. The item remained a mystery, though, as Warren Spector wasn’t ready to talk about it at the time. The film reel actually popped up again at PAX over the weekend, and while we’re still not completely certain what it is, we may be one step closer to finding out.
During the game’s latest demonstration, a film reel called “Mickey and the Beanstalk” was obtained. A journalist asked, “Would Epic Mickey feature classic Mickey cartoons as unlockables for a younger audience that might not have experienced them before?” Warren Spector blushed, quickly shying away from the question, and only said something to the effect that it would be a great idea.
So, again, that by no means confirms anything. Still, Spector’s reaction does sort of imply that there could be something going on with classic cartoons in the game.
Sakamoto on how he’s feeling with the game out in the U.S. and Europe…
“We have spent such a long time completing this game and now Europe is the last market we are launching in so we were able to launch it globally almost simultaneously. So all I can say is I’m really happy about that.
At the same time now that we have started selling Other M to people around the world I am really looking forward to it. Of course, there’s got to be bad impressions as well as good ones. Even the negative ones I am looking forward to seeing. “
Make sure you skip to 5:30 in the video to hear the talk about Black Ops on Wii. It isn’t much, but hey, at least we’re finally hearing something!
