Sunshine Manor, the 8-bit blood-soaked horror RPG from Fossil Games, just received a final release date. It’s been announced that the game is scheduled to launch on October 6, 2023.

Sunshine Manor was announced for Switch in 2020. We haven’t heard much about that version of the game in a couple of years, so it may come as a surprise that it’s releasing so soon.

Nintendo has announced the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe – Booster Course Pass Set, which is a new retail release for the game. Fans can pick it up on October 6, 2023.

This is another odd release from Nintendo as it’s not a true physical release. It seems the original Mario Kart 8 Deluxe game is included, but the Booster Course Pass will be a download content. On the bright side, you’ll get a few physical goodies here – namely a set of four pins, set of five art cards (double sided) and set of ten sticker sheets.

Pixel Games has announced its debut Switch release Hidden Gems: Volume One, which will include four classic Commodore 64 games. It will be available tomorrow, September 28.

Hidden Gems: Volume One, developed by Imagine Software, comes with N.O.M.A.D., Gilligan’s Gold, Mutant Monty, and Horace Goes Skiing. The collection also has display filter options (including a 1980s-style CRT filter), save and restore points (up to four), and the ability to rewind up to ten seconds of live gameplay.

Several different bug fixes have been addressed here. With some of these, Nintendo advises downloading the patch and reloading save data. Also, Nintendo added in a progress bar to loading screens.

Here’s the full rundown of the update:

System: Switch
Release date: September 14, 2023
Developer: Monolith Soft / tri-Crescendo / logicalbeat
Publisher: Bandai Namco

Those who knew of Monolith Soft before their rise to fame with Xenoblade Chronicles will no doubt know them for their work on Xenosaga instead. Few will have heard of Baten Kaitos: Eternal Wings and the Lost Ocean and its prequel Baten Kaitos Origins, two titles that were released in the early 2000s on the Gamecube and were generally well-received, but failed to make a lasting impact with sales, and were largely forgotten about beyond occasional rumors of a third game being in the works or canceled that would surface from time-to-time over the years. Baten Kaitos I & II HD Remaster brings these two games to the Switch with enhanced visuals and quality of life features, and while both games are a product of the times and beginning to show their age in places, they hold up remarkably well and are worth experiencing for any fans of Monolith Soft’s later titles.
