During today’s Level-5 Vision event, we received a first look at Yo-Kai Watch 3 for 3DS.

Yo-Kai Watch 3 is set in the town of St. Peanutsburg in the United States of America. Previous entries in the series took place in Japan’s Sakura New Town.

Yo-Kai Watch 3 features a new heroine named Inaho Misora as well as a new yo-kai named USA-Pyon. Both are debuting in the second season of the Yo-Kai Watch anime in July.

Level-5 will be supporting Yo-Kai Watch 3 with free, major updates in the future. The game will eventually be patched to versions 2.0, 3.0, and 4.0.

A release date for Yo-Kai Watch 3 was not announced.

Yo-Kai Watch Busters is launching in Japan on July 11, Level-5 announced during its “Vision” event today.

Two versions of Busters will be available: Red Cat Troupe and White Dog Unit. Both feature online multiplayer, the ability to level-up weapons, and over 25 bosses.

Level-5 CEO Akihiro Hino said Busters was created thanks to fan demand.

During today’s Level-5 Vision 2015 event, CEO Akihiro Hino briefly touched on the company’s western plans for Yo-Kai watch. Level-5 will be teaming up with Nintendo, who will publish the games in the west. As was previously announced, Hasbro is handling the toys outside of Japan.

We’ll be seeing Yo-Kai Watch in North America next year. Level-5 and Hasbro intend to roll out the series to other territories month-by-month, with the global launch finishing off by the end of 2016.

I’ll also briefly mention that Level-5 announced a new collaboration with Koei Tecmo titled “Yo-kai Watch: Three Kingdoms”. Since there’s little information out there currently (and it may not end up on Nintendo platforms), we won’t be covering this game in-depth just yet.

Trading card games have always been a special breed of addictive insanity, with dedicated fan bases in Magic The Gathering, Pokémon, Yu-Gi-Oh!, a plethora of licensed TCGs and most recently Hearthstone. Adding to the list this summer is Fire Emblem 0, a new TCG releasing in Japan on June 25th, 2015.

First thing you notice right away from taking a glance at the starter decks and booster pack above is the incredible art associated with it. What the rules of the game are and how it’ll all work out are still unknown, but the designs of the cards are so pretty that, even if it turns out to be extremely convoluted, there is no shame in collecting these just to marvel at them. Admit it, you used to do it back in the day when the Pokémon TCG initially released.

No word yet on if this will be released outside of Japan, but with the right marketing I think this could end up being something big worldwide. Fire Emblem has always been a niche title, but with Awakening blowing up and the copious amount of news we’ve had lately regarding Fire Emblem If, amiibo and the Shin Megami Tensei crossover, I have no doubt that interest in Fire Emblem is at an all time high right now and could easily be taken to the forefront of Nintendo franchises – in terms of popularity like Mario, Metroid, Zelda, Kirby and more – with the right push.

If these ever got released outside of Japan, would you be interested in delving into the Fire Emblem TCG? Is your wallet ready for it? We’ve all spent hundreds, if not thousands of dollars on a TCG at some point in our lives. Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
