Ahead of Pokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu / Eevee’s launch, Bahamut spoke with director Junichi Masuda. Siliconera translated the discussion points.

Ever since Pokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu and Pokemon: Let’s Go, Eevee were announced, there’s been one uncertainty surrounding the game. Will motion controls be required? Now that people are starting to get their hands on copies, we finally have a concrete answer once and for all.

When playing in portable mode, you’ll be happy to hear that motion controls aren’t required. Both titles are fully playable without needing to use motion controls when catching Pokemon. You can simply press the A button at the right time to have a better chance of success at catching.

Pokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu and Pokemon: Let’s Go, Eevee continue the trend of Nintendo featuring art and other material inside Switch cases. Many publishers opt to include nothing inside, but that isn’t the case with the Big N. As seen above, buyers are treated to a look at a map of the Kanto region.

The Pokemon Company has shared several new gameplay videos for Pokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu / Eevee featuring Melmetal and more. We have the full set below.

Two new trailers are live for Pokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu / Eevee. As usual, we have videos in English in Japanese, and both are attached below. The clips show battling against Team Rocket, the Elite Four, and more.

The new Poke Ball Plus device has a couple of different functions. Not only can it work as a controller for Pokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu / Eevee, but it also acts as a Pokemon GO Plus. Players can use it to send Pokemon to the Let’s Go games and collect rewards.

Nintendo has since provided new information on how Poke Ball Plus works if set to Pokemon GO Plus mode while having a Pokemon inside. When this happens and the device is acting like a Pokemon GO Plus, it will spin all PokeStops automatically without prompting you and providing the items. If there isn’t a Pokemon inside, it’ll vibrate similar to the Pokemon GO Plus.

The Japanese and Korean Nintendo eShops confirm that the upcoming Pokémon Let’s Go games will not support the Switch Pro Controller. This shouldn’t be a huge surprise given the Poké Ball throwing mechanic (and the lack of a Pokemon themed Pro Controller), but is sure to be sad news to many who were still hopeful.
