Good Feel

Poochy & Yoshi’s Woolly World launches very soon, though Nintendo hasn’t forgotten about the original game on Wii U. Today, an update was released in Japan to add in Poochy amiibo compatibility. Poochy appears in the game when you scan the plushie.

The update, set at version 1.1.0, does not appear to be live in North America or Europe yet. It should be up closer to the western release date of Poochy & Yoshi’s Woolly World.

Tomita has now decided to depart from Good-Feel and is a freelancer. He just made the move at the start of 2017. Tomita is now taking on requests, and even uploaded unused music from Yoshi’s Woolly World.

Update: Swapped out the Japanese video of the animated video for the North American upload. Also confirmed as one of the shorts included with the game.

By scanning the Yarn Poochy amiibo, players can summon Poochy to help them out. When you scan the amiibo during Poochy Dash stages, you will instead unlock fast-paced Time Attack challenges, which reward you with new Poochy patterns when you beat them.

Mellow Mode is back from the Wii U version, but in addition to having wings, Yoshi can also count on the help of the Poochy Pups, who will seek out secrets and hidden collectables and also can be used to attack enemies.

A great variety of amiibo can be used to unlock new patterns for Yoshi, and new additions for the 3DS version include the Splatoon and Animal Crossing amiibo.

As previously announced, the game also includes 30 stop-motion animations by the Japanese animation studio Dwarf.
