March 2025 Nintendo Direct

Even though there’s a massive Nintendo Direct coming in less than a week for Switch 2, a separate presentation took place a dew days ago for Switch 1 games. We’re interested in knowing how you felt about the event.

From Nintendo, the company had a couple of new game announcements. Rhythm Heaven Groove and Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream were unveiled, but interestingly enough, both are coming in 2025. We also got our best look at Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, which is still planned for 2025.

Third-parties showed up with several announcements of their own. Bandai Namco brought several games to the presentation with Patapon 1 + 2 Replay, Everybody’s Golf: Hot Shots, Tamagotchi Plaza, and Shadow Labyrinth. Other notable games include MARVEL Cosmic Invasion, Raidou Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army, Witchbrook, and No Sleep For Kaname Date – From AI: The Somnium Files. Following today’s Nintendo Direct presentation for March 2025, we’re publishing a dedicated post to roundup notable pre-orders. A number of new games were announced and are beginning to go up at retailers.

This post will be updated over the next couple of days with notable listings. On top of that, we’ll be putting everything into our weekly pre-order post on Sunday.

Metroid Prime 4 boxart

Thanks to Nintendo, we have the official boxart for Metroid Prime 4: Beyond – pictured above. A new set of screenshots have also come in.

The game just reappeared during today’s Nintendo Direct with the latest information. Here’s some information, straight from Nintendo:

Super Robot Wars Y

Bandai Namco’s long-running Super Robot Wars continues on with the just-announced Super Robot Wars Y. The title launches in 2025.

The best news here is that the game is getting a worldwide launch. Recent entries have been limited to Japan and Asia.

Here’s the first details:

Dragon Quest 1 2 HD tra

After it was announced last year, the first trailer has dropped for Dragon Quest 1 & 2 HD-2D Remake. This comes as part of today’s Nintendo Direct.

Similar to the franchise’s third entry that debuted at the end of 2024, two more games as part of the Erdrick Trilogy are being completely updated. A new character has also been teased.

The Wandering Village

Stray Fawn Studio made it known today that it’s putting The Wandering Village on Nintendo Switch. The title will be ready to go on July 17, 2025.

The Wandering Village is a city-building strategy game with everything taking place on the back of a massive wandering creature. Players will build a settlement and form a relationship with the colossus.

High On Life

High On Life, which originally released in 2022, is getting a new Nintendo Switch version. Those interested in the game can grab it on May 6, 2025.

High On Life is an action adventure game with a focus on comedy. Players will rescue and team up with talking guns while playing as an intergalactic bounty hunter.

Nintendo Today app

To close out today’s Nintendo Direct, the Nintendo Today app was revealed. This is designed to continue the concept of Nintendo Directs in which news and more will be delivered straight to fans.

The app, which Nintendo compares to a calendar, “delivers a variety of content including latest news, videos, and comics of your favorite Nintendo games and characters from select franchises.” Also, following the Nintendo Switch 2 presentation on April 2, it will include information about the new console.

Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream

The cult hit DS and 3DS series Tomodachi Life is making a comeback, with Nintendo just revealed Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream. It’ll be available in 2026.

This marks the first entry in the franchise in over ten years. Players can create Mii characters based on anyone and watch them live their lives on an island out at sea. It’ll be possible to become involved with their relationships, experience the strange way they interreact, and more.
