Miiverse

Along with today’s screenshot, Sakurai passed along the following message on Miiverse:

Here’s a very, very new fighter in the upcoming Smash games, Greninja. Greninja’s sophisticated moves are extremely fun to use once you get used to how it controls!

Sony’s lovable executive Shuhei Yoshida has been banned from Miiverse. And this has actually happened not once, but twice.

Yoshida told Engadget that his bans came about for including his Twitter account in his Miiverse profile and for subtly promoting PlayStation.

He said:

“The first time was because I had my Twitter account in my profile and that’s against the rules,” he says. “The second time is because I wrote, ‘I love PS.’ You’re not supposed to promote a commercial product in MiiVerse, so they correctly interpreted ‘PS’ as ‘PlayStation,'” he says with a laugh.

Your character starts a Smash Run as a relatively ordinary fighter. But before the game, you can outfit yourself with certain items that can help power you up early, which will give you a big advantage later on!! These items are much like the Powers you’d find in Kid Icarus: Uprising.

It’s airing at a really late time for some of you, but it’ll probably be worth the wait.

Pikachu’s Thunder now starts off with a thundercloud that deals a Meteor Smash! From left to right, you can see this combo starting with Pikachu throwing the opponent upward, Meteor Smashing with the lightning strike, and then directly attacking. Foes can dodge, of course, so the attack won’t hit consistently, but when it does, it sure feels good!

Miiverse

Miiverse has received another small update today. Two small changes have been first.

First, users will now be directed to the Communities screen when logging in to Miiverse on the web. Second, those without Nintendo Network IDs can now view all popular posts as well as comments on those posts.

Here’s the official update news from Miiverse’s Marty:

Along with today’s screenshot, Sakurai passed along the following message on Miiverse:

The Gust Bellows can blow opponents away with its powerful wind blasts. When someone drops it, though, the gusts run wild! Out of the new items, more than a few will be from The Legend of Zelda series. We’ll take the most interesting and straightforward ones and reformulate them to match the Smash Bros. world.

BLOK DROP U creator Michael Aschenbrenner has shared a new look at the game’s upcoming update on Miiverse. As shown in the shot above, it’ll bring about an upgraded art style, including slight shadow effects.

Aschenbrenner’s full Miiverse message reads:

Today is day 1 of my 3 day reveal for the new BLOK DROP U update. Today’s screenshot is of stage 11 and shows off the new art style. Also, you will notice that I added a slight shadow effect to the bloks and blades to give the game a dimensional look. Let me know what you think in the comments and check back tomorrow for another screenshot reveal!
