Namco Bandai

Namco Bandai has gone by the name “Bandai Namco” in Japan since Bandai and Namco merged back in 2005. Overseas, though, the “Namco Bandai” name has been kept in tact.

That’s changed following a meeting of the board of directors held in Japan yesterday. The names of all 31 subsidiaries have been unified, and will be known as “Bandai Namco” going forward. In doing so, the company hopes to enhance the value and appeal” of the brand.

Namco Bandai has shared details and screenshots for Game Center CX 3’s “Blood of Dragon”, one of the mini-games included in the upcoming 3DS title.

Blood of the Dragon is an RPG that places players in the shoes of Ask. You’ll need to defeat the root of evil to bring peace back to the world.

Blood of the Dragon includes a real-time combat system as well as a job change system. It also features a time bar at the bottom of the screen where you can see everyone’s turns.

Namco Bandai has revealed a second Detective Conan game for 3DS following 2013’s Marionette Symphony. ” Detective Conan: Phantom Rhapsody” will launch in Japan on April 17, the publisher announced today.

Phantom Rhapsody features a zapping system which lets players view the story from the perspective of Conan and his rival Harley Hartwell. Voice acting will be included for suspects and command battle showdowns.

Those who purchase a first print copy of Detective Conan: Phantom Rhapsody will receive an AR card that makes an AR Conan appear.

Namco Bandai has picked up a new trademark for “Little Tail Story” in Japan. The company also nabbed a trademark for “dog and cat in an RPG”. Could either of these two be connected to Solatorobo and/or Tail Concerto?

Disney Magical World has been a hit for Namco Bandai in Japan. 500,000 copies of the game have been shipped including download sales, the publisher revealed today.

Nintendo announced Disney Magical World for release in North America last week. The title is set to arrive on April 11.
