Nintendo Direct

Even though there’s a massive Nintendo Direct coming in less than a week for Switch 2, a separate presentation took place a dew days ago for Switch 1 games. We’re interested in knowing how you felt about the event.

From Nintendo, the company had a couple of new game announcements. Rhythm Heaven Groove and Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream were unveiled, but interestingly enough, both are coming in 2025. We also got our best look at Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, which is still planned for 2025.

Third-parties showed up with several announcements of their own. Bandai Namco brought several games to the presentation with Patapon 1 + 2 Replay, Everybody’s Golf: Hot Shots, Tamagotchi Plaza, and Shadow Labyrinth. Other notable games include MARVEL Cosmic Invasion, Raidou Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army, Witchbrook, and No Sleep For Kaname Date – From AI: The Somnium Files. Catch up on all of the announcements here.

Nintendo Direct March 2025 rumor

Multiple sources are pointing to the possibility of a Nintendo Direct taking place later this week.

This is not to be confused with the Nintendo Direct: Nintendo Switch 2 event planned for April 2, and is also just a few days away. We would only be hearing about games lined up for the current console.

The Making of Karateka, Llamasoft Jeff Minter Story, Tetris Forever physical

Digital Eclipse has announced not one, but three physical releases – The Making of Karateka, Llamasoft: The Jeff Minter Story, and Tetris Forever are all getting the boxed treatment.

These titles were previously made available digitally as part of the company’s Gold Master series. They will now be available physically for the first time.

Standard editions will be sold for $34.99 (€34.99). There’ll also be Deluxe Editions for The Making of Karateka and Llamasoft: The Jeff Minter Story, featuring special packaging and unique collectibles for $69.99 (€69.99). Finally, Tetris Forever is getting a collector’s edition for $139.99 (€139.99) and includes special packaging, collectibles, and an exclusive handheld unit featuring two Tetris games.

Nintendo Switch 2 Direct games

Now that Nintendo has finally announced its next big console, the Switch 2, we’ve finally got a specific date to look forward to: April 2, 2025. On that day, we’ll be getting a special Direct that will no doubt reveal some heavy hitters for the console’s first year on the market. At the time of writing, April 2 is about two months away That leaves plenty of time to speculate, so today, we’re looking at some of Nintendo’s biggest franchises and which ones are most likely to appear at the Switch 2 presentation in a couple of months.

February 2025 Nintendo Direct predictions

Today, we’re looking at the potential announcements we could see if we were to get a final Switch-centered Nintendo Direct in February 2025.

At the time of writing, we don’t currently have any sort of confirmation that we’re actually getting a presentation next month. That said, we’re arguably due for one. Other than Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition, we don’t have any concrete release dates for remaining Nintendo Switch titles. We do know that Metroid Prime 4: Beyond launches sometime this year, but we’re still missing a defined release window. Additionally, if you remember the transition from the 3DS to the Switch, Nintendo continued to publish a number of ports on the dedicated handheld during Switch’s early years. We wouldn’t be surprised if we saw a similar approach here, and if it winds up being true, it means we might still have a remake or two bound for the original Nintendo Switch sometime this year.
