Devil Engine Complete Edition physical

Limited Run Games is working on a physical release of Devil Engine: Complete Edition for Switch, the company announced today.

You may remember that Devil Engine technically already launched on Switch in 2019. However, it then reshipped as a new “Complete Edition” last month. A physical edition also came to Japan, though this is the first time it’ll have a boxed copy elsewhere.

Devil Engine Complete Edition

Original (7/5): Beep Japan, Poppy Works, and Protoculture Games have revealed that Devil Engine: Complete Edition is on the way to Switch. The game is slated for release on October 12, 2023.

If the name Devil Engine sounds familiar, that’s because it was announced for Switch way back in 2019. Dangen Entertainment was originally set to publish. We had even heard about Ignition DLC that was teased in the main game. Devil Engine: Complete Edition will finally bring us the Switch version as well as that DLC and 1993 Shenandoah as an extra bonus.

The side scrolling shoot-em-up Devil Engine launched on Switch earlier this year. A few years ago, a new “Ignition” expansion was announced. What you may not have known is that a demo for the DLC is hiding in the original game itself.

The demo can be easily accessed by inputting a button combination on the main menu and using a particular code. Below are the full instructions:

Publisher Dangen Entertainment and developer Protoculture Games have announced Devil Engine Ignition, an expansion pack for the game currently available on Switch. It will be released this winter.

Here’s an overview of the Ignition DLC, along with a trailer:

This Thursday, the classic styled side scrolling shoot-em-up Devil Engine will be available on the Switch eShop. Have a look at some footage below.

Thanks to listings on the eShop, we now have a release date for Devil Engine. Dangen Entertainment will publish the “high octane, classic styled side scrolling shoot-em-up” on February 22.

Here’s an overview as well as a trailer:

Dangen Entertainment has announced that it will publish two new games on Switch. Devil Engine, along with Astalon: Tears of the Earth, will both be released on the eShop.

Devil Engine is a side-scrolling shooter while Astalon: Tears of the Earth is a 2D action game and Renaine is a platformer. We have more details and trailers for both projects below.
